CHAPTER 1

My Background Story.

" Once upon a time, there was a girl born to Hades, the Greek god of death and the underworld. When she was born, the world seemed to come to a standstill. The sky grew dark, and the air became thick with fog and an ominous, otherworldly silence. In this new world, life as we knew it was no more...

Mortals called her a "myth", and Gods called her a "threat". She always is something different. A witch who has lovesick, a little girl who lost her father, an evil queen, Lilith, the first demon, and a horror story told in the camps.

But who is she? And why do people think about her too much? Mortals or gods no matter who, every creature had a defense mechanism. Deep in their mind. If this mechanism sees a threat and if it can't make it non-threatening, then start to deceive yourself. "If I can't be non-threatening then I destroy", that is how it works. Not destroy physically, in mind. When the world gives them a sign, a dream, or a vision they try not to think about it. But if the evidence is so much and you can't ignore them, that's a situation. Your 'defense mechanism' is not working anymore."

Zeus knows. She will be so powerful, so powerful that even can beat him. No, he didn't like it. He deserved this throne, not her. Goddesses of Destiny told him, he knew. She will come when she grows up, she had Hades' and the most powerful witch's blood, Morgan Le Fay. Zeus can be killed by her mother, but she was born. It's too late and Hades hides her in his shadows. No one can find her. Zeus started a hunt to find her, which he couldn't.

He knew this would turn into a snow-white story. Like the evil queen who couldn't handle being more uglier than Snow White, he couldn't handle being weaker than her. And he wanted her dead, right now. Had a hunter sent after her? Absolutely. The best of hunters, Orion. The next day they found Orion's body. Zeus didn't take her strength seriously, and it would be the worst mistake he'd ever made in his life. Speaking of the Snow White story, things were going wrong here. The second hunter Zeus sent after Orion was a young god. Two days later they found the hunter dead while holding his heart. Zeus was afraid of the shadows and of the monsters under his bed. But was he ever afraid of his own shadow? From the monsters in his head? He should. Because she was pulling his shadow away from him. And do you know what happened to shadowless creatures? Did they disappear without a trace? Were they taken by some unknown force? Did they simply decide to move on to another life and leave their shadows behind? No one knows for certain, but their stories are still being told to this day. But, I know. Cause I have the shadows.

That's how my story begins, and it seems like it never ends.

I put the pen on the library desk. Draco slowly approached me from behind. He must have thought I didn't hear him. "Yes?" I mumbled with a sleepy voice. He jumped like a bunny. "You scared me!" I shrugged my shoulders. Well, that's my job. "What are you writing again? Another novel?" I smiled, that was the smile of a lion.

"Do you know what happens to shadowless people?" I asked him without turning him. "Shadowless people?!" He said with shock. "Just stop pretending like Wednesday Addams you're terrifying me. And no, I don't know and I don't want to know." I glanced at his absent shadow as I walked to the exit of the library, picking up his books from the table next to me. "You will learn."
