Aurelia and Bella Swan arrive at the airport and get off the plane

"Do you see him?" Bella asks her twin as she looks around

"Not yet," Aurelia replies before spotting him in his police uniform standing awkwardly with a sign that says 'Aurelia and Bella Swan' on it, "right there!" she points at him

Bella sighs as she follows her twin over to their father, Charlie Swan

"DAD," Aurelia exclaims as she rushes over to hug him

"ARI," he yells back as he rocks them back and forth, "I've missed you"

"I've missed you too," she smiles before pulling away so her father could greet Bella

"Hi Bells," he smiles, only receiving an awkward smile in reply

The twins are their father are driving in his police cruiser in awkward silence

Aurelia clicks her tongue as she texts Angela Weber, her friend from Forks

The awkward silence was killing her but it was mostly because of Bella and Charlie. When the twins were younger they always used to visit their dad every summer but one summer, Bella just decided she didn't wanna go anymore. So, while Aurelia kept going and grew a stronger bond with her father, Bella stopped which left them not knowing anything about each other anymore, and it didn't help that they were both awkward as hell

"Your hair's longer," Charlie observes, looking away from the road for only a second

"I cut it since the last time I saw you," Bella replies, looking at her hair

Well you haven't seen him in years so it's had time to grow back Aurelia thinks turning her phone off and looking out of the window, only half listening to their conversation

"Guess it grew out again," Bella simply nods at Charlie's statement

"Awkward," Aurelia whispers into the silence, making Bella turn to give her a dirty look

"How's your mom?" Charlie speaks up again

"She's good," Aurelia smiles, in hopes of making the car ride less awkward

He nods before it's silent again. Aurelia looks out the window and sees a sign that says "The City Of Forks Welcomes You- Pop. 3246"

More like 3248 now Aurelia thinks with a small sigh as she tilts her head back on the headrest behind her before closing her eyes

After what felt like years, the cruiser finally pulls up to a two-story house that Aurelia immediately smiles at. She's finally home. She and Bella get out of the car and carry in their bags.

The house isn't a mansion at all but it's familiar, comfortable, and homey.

"I put Grandpa's old desk in your room, Bella. Aurelia, you now have the guest room since you guys aren't kids anymore and I figured you wouldn't want to share a room with bunk beds anymore and now that this is a little bit more permanent than just a few days in the summer, I don't want you to have to sleep on the couch," he smiles as his younger daughter gives him a thankful look, "I also cleared some shelves in the bathroom"

Bella and Aurelia both nod appreciatively

"I'll just put these up in your rooms," Charlie starts, referring to their bags

"You don't have to, we can do it, Dad," Aurelia insists, not wanting to make her dad feel obligated to do it

"I know, but I want to help you," Charlie replies, not backing down
