Nothing. Positively nothing. It was all Jay had to do, and it was so, incredibly boring.

The recent months following the Crystal King's downfall had been devoted to rebuilding Ninjago and, for the ninja, repairing the monastery. Wu had insisted that they reconstruct without using their elemental powers, which caused progress to pass so slowly that the roof was barely completed. "Instead of building our home," the sensei advised, "think of it as building character."

As it turns out, you can't "build much character" when you fall through a hole in the ceiling and fracture your collarbone as well as sprain your ankle. Jay happily took a break from construction, but now he was restricted from doing what felt like absolutely everything and was limited to doing nothing to allow time for the healing process.

He was so bored from doing nothing that he just might die.

The ninja had run out of building materials, so Master Wu took Lloyd, Kai, Cole, and Zane into the city to fetch more. Nya was left to babysit Jay and make sure he was doing nothing.

She quickly discovered that watching someone do nothing is also incredibly boring, so she left his room to find something to entertain herself.

Jay huffed. "Nyaaaaaaa!" he called.

"Whaaaaaat?" came her muffled response from somewhere in the monastery.

"Come baaaaaaack!" he groaned. A few moments passed, but no response came. He groaned again. "I'm not supposed to be moving and you're gonna make me come find you?"

A wonderful laugh could be faintly heard, and he could help but smile. Jay struggled to sit up with one arm, but when he finally managed to, he strapped his lace-up brace to his injured foot. He reached for a crutch and limped into the hallway.

After hobbling around for a while, he found Nya sitting on the kitchen island with abstract figures of water flying around her.

Warm, afternoon sunlight streamed in through the window and reflected off of the airborne water, casting a beautiful light show across the face of his yang. A soft smile played on her lips as she gracefully moved her hands about, guiding the water into several stunning shapes. He stood silently with a permanent look of adoration, watching her craft.

The water flew like a streamer in his direction. Jay didn't flinch as it whirled around him, coming to a stop in the shape of a heart around his face.

"It's rude to stare," Nya teased. Her eyes shone.

Jay sighed. "I can't help it. You are just too gorgeous."

She laughed- music to Jay's ears- and flicked her fingers, bringing the water to the sink and releasing her hold on it. "Don't you have something else to do than look at me?"

He hobbled to stand in front of her and leaned heavily on the island. "It's the only thing I can do! These stupid bones won't let me do anything else."

Nya rolled her eyes playfully. "Then quit whining about it and do something that doesn't require your arms or legs. Find a hobby, something to pass the time, like I did with the water."

His face was suddenly hovering in front of hers, and her smile disappeared in surprise.

"My hobby is looking at you," his voice deepened. "You are so angelic, I just can't not stare."

Nya was suddenly breathless. Is it hot in here all of a sudden, or was that just her?

Jay looked at her through hooded eyelids with yearning. "Admiring you doesn't require my arms or my legs." His gaze dropped to her parted lips. "Neither does kissing you."

Yep, it was definitely just her that was hot. And him. He's hot. Or, at least that's the conclusion she drew.

Nya let him observe her for a moment while she gathered herself. When she finally found her breath, her entire demeanor changed to match his, and she looked at him through her eyelashes with an equal amount of desire. "It looks like you just found your new hobby, then."

It was his turn to be breathless. Nya hopped off of the counter and gently pushed him onto it, never breaking her heated gaze. Jay sat on the island, setting his crutch to the side, and brought the hand that wasn't restricted in a sling to brush the dark bangs out of Nya's eyes.

She leaned onto the counter, wrapping her arms around his neck, and slowly moved in to claim his lips.

Their eyes fluttered shut in sync as their hearts both skipped a beat. Just as their lips were about to meet, they heard a door slam shut and leaped away from each other in surprise.

Muffled bickering could be heard, followed by the exasperated voice of their master.

They arrived home earlier than the couple expected. Or, rather, more time had passed than they thought.

Jay didn't want to be met with consequences if he was discovered out of bed and explicitly not resting. He attempted to scramble off of the counter in a frenzy but failed desperately.

Nya unexpectedly seized his crutch and thrust it into Jay's hands, then proceeded to scoop him up bridal style and swiftly carry him to his room.

Once he was seated in his bed, Nya moved quickly back to the door to push it shut quietly. She breathed a sigh of relief and turned around to lean against the door, only to discover a starstruck Jay who sat on his bed with his jaw hanging open in awe.

"What?" She whispered, chuckling. "I didn't want to get in trouble just as much as you didn't want to."

His face morphed into a wide, loving smile. "Can you do that more often?"

"What, carry you?" she giggled, walking over to his bed and sitting down beside him.

He nodded eagerly. "Can that be my new hobby? Being carried by Nya? I wouldn't want to do anything else but that."

Nya leaned towards him with a playful look in her eyes. "How about you continue with your other hobby instead?"

A sly grin spread across his face. "Oh, yeah." He leaned into her face, caressing her cheek with his free hand.

"Where were we?"

Jay's question was answered simply with her lips crashing into his.

Author's note:

I hope that wasn't too cringe. Truth be told, I had no idea what do to with that prompt. I wanted some (SFW) heat and some humor, but didn't know where to go from there. So, I just flowed with the first thing I thought of, and this is what came out of it.

Another note: I'M SO SORRY FOR BEING LATE TO JAYA WEEK! School caught me and bit me in the butt, but I had enough time to make a GORGEOUS book cover! :)

See you in the next chapter...

Sincerely, Hay <3
