Naina's Pov: -

As Ryan's menacing face came into view, a whirlwind of emotions crashed over me. Fear tightened its grip on my heart, making it race. My breath felt trapped in my constricted throat, and the room seemed to shrink, suffocating me. How had he managed to break into Aanya's secure home, with all the windows and doors locked tight? And what sinister intentions lay behind those menacing brown eyes?

I desperately wanted to scream, but his vice-like hand clamped over my mouth, silencing any sound that tried to escape.

"Shh," he hissed with a malevolent smirk. "You wouldn't want to wake your friend, sister and their family, now, would you?" His fingers squeezed around my wrist, filling me with painful fear and a sense of helplessness. " How DARE you escape from me after your parents sold you to me?!!!"
His words hung in the air like a sinister threat, sending shivers down my spine.

Summoning the last traces of my courage, I confronted him, my voice trembling as I unleashed my pent-up frustration. Despite the nervousness bubbling within me, I couldn't hold back any longer, and I let out a fierce, unapologetic scream directly into his face.

"I'VE NEVER BEEN AN OUNCE OF YOURS, JUST AS THOSE PEOPLE YOU CLAIM TO BE MY PARENTS HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE THAN STRANGERS. YOUR LITTLE GAME OF TORMENT, THE CONSTANT SHADOW YOU CAST OVER MY LIFE, AND THOSE EMPTY THREATS MIGHT HAVE WORKED ONCE, BUT LET ME MAKE SOMETHING PAINFULLY CLEAR TO YOU. I'VE SHED THE SKIN OF THAT FRAGILE GIRL YOU USED TO KNOW. I'VE GROWN STRONGER, WISER, AND MORE RESILIENT. SO, IF YOU'RE EVEN CONSIDERING TRYING YOUR TRICKS ON ME AGAIN, I SUGGEST YOU TREAD VERY, VERY CAREFULLY."

"YOU ARE MINE, MY QUEEN. YOU'VE BEEN MINE SINCE THE BEGINNING, AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE. NO ONE CAN EVER SNATCH YOU FROM ME." His voice dripped with a dangerous edge; a husky tone that was calm just like before a storm.

I sprung from my once-comfortable bed, rudely awakened by the intruder who had barged into the house. This room, once a sanctuary of slumber, now seemed tainted, and I knew sleep would not come to me tonight. As I quickly got up, my heart raced with fear, and a cold shiver of dread coursed through my body.

Cautiously, I retreated from the advancing menace, clutching a pillow as a shield of protection. But he was swift, and in a mere blink, he snatched the pillow from my grasp. His predatory stride closed in, ensnaring me within his rock-like chest and chain-like unyielding arms, pinning me to the unrelenting wall.

Amid the whirlwind of emotions, there were tears of anger prickling at the corners of my eyes. They weren't tears of weakness but rather tears of defiance. These tears flowed not out of submission but as a manifestation of my determination to fight back and protect myself. In that moment, my tears symbolized the storm of emotions I was experiencing—fear, frustration, and above all, unwavering anger. As his face menacingly drew closer, threatening to claim a forceful kiss, I caught sight of a fragile flower vase perched on a nearby table. Without hesitation, I seized it and, with an impulsive, desperate act, shattered it upon his head. The vase exploded into a thousand shards, affording me a fleeting yet invaluable moment to break free.

Stumbling to my feet, I rushed towards the door, only to find it locked, the keys conspicuously absent. Panic surged, leaving me paralyzed with fear. He closed in with predatory steps, his grip on my waist unyielding as he pinned me against the wall with a resounding thud. In his eyes, anger and lust waged a sinister battle, and his voice dripped with menace as he whispered, "You can't escape, my dear. You're mine, and there's no way out."

Trapped again within the confines of his imposing figure and his unyielding grip, I struggled for each breath, my heart racing uncontrollably. His intoxicated breath washed over me, causing my whole body to tremble with anxiety. I felt utterly helpless as he produced a menacing knife, its gleaming blade ready to carve into my trembling hand. Our conversation was a nightmarish dance between predator and prey.
