NICO'S POV

Breathe. Breathe.

I sprung out from my thoughts when Siam, my brother, placed a cold beverage on my cheek. He faced me directly with a matching smile and handing me the iced coffee properly.

"It's coffee." I stated the obvious. He nodded.

"I think a soda would be too unhealthy for a morning drink?"

"Is that a question?" I looked at him confusingly.

"I mean, giving you a smoothie would have been an option too but I think it won't be too good in the long run unlike coffee." I nodded in agreement and started stepping out of my car.

We were in the school parking lot. We were driving our separate cars because Siam was starting to date this cheerleader in our school. Speaking of the devil, Siam's car was parked literally across from mine and her so-called girlfriend was sitting in the shotgun seat smothering her lips with lip gloss. I nudged my head towards her direction.

"I think your lips is gonna slip down when you kiss her."

He looked at her direction and back to mine as he rolled his eyes.

"Her name is Isla." Putting emphasis on her name.

I looked him in the eye and just scoffed.

"I don't care but thanks for the coffee though." I pushed him out of the way and went inside the school.

I have serious social anxiety. It's because of the people around me, not that I am blaming them. I am not into what they think about me but it's how they usually approach me with a purpose. It's either option A and B. A for my parent's money and B for my brother. I hate it when people just regard me as something like a stepping stone to get closer to what they want. They want me as their friend or companion because I can give them what they desire. Both the material things and my brother's attention. One epitome of this situation is Siam's current girlfriend. Isla. Carlisle Harris.

She's a famous cheerleader in our school. Before, I was just a girl whom she bullied from freshman to junior year but everything changed when my brother transferred in our school at the start of our senior year. From the moment Isla saw Siam parked his gorgeous black Bentley Continental GT in our school parking lot and him getting out of the car with his immaculate build, Isla had already made her stake on my brother.

Surprisingly, I made my way out of the car too. All eyes were on me. They were probably wandering why a dumbass bookworm was with a gorgeous man. I could never forget the look on her face when Siam kissed my forehead and ran inside the school building to process his transfer papers. She immediately walked over to me with her lookalike minions following her.

"Was that your boyfriend?" She asked while raising her eyebrow at me.

"You could literally ask him yourself if you are so curious about it, Isla."

I was about to walk away from them when her minions circled me.

I looked at Isla questioningly. "Is there a problem?" as I fixed my backpack falling off my shoulder.

"It's just a yes or no answer, silly." She starts twirling my hair.

As I made eye contact with her, she pulled my hair.

"What the fuck?" I winced out of pain. "Are you serious?" While fixing my hair.

"You didn't give an answer, loser." She chuckled and fixed my shirt.

"Coco!" Siam calls out to me. As I looked towards the school building's entrance, he ran towards our direction while waving his paper at us.

Everyone turned to me to look at me as if I was some kind of a freak.
