*Sabre's POV*

I hate college. I hate the people, I hate the teachers and I hate the building. Unfortunately, I'm only 17 so I have to stay here for another year until I can legally leave and go to work. Isn't life just wonderful?

I had just gotten to my dorm and opened the door when a plastic bucket fell on my head and soaked me from head to toe in water. I can already tell who was behind this from the laughter coming from within my dorm. I take off the bucket and behold, it's the popular kids, as suspected...

Josh is the ringleader of the group, because being the best basketball player in the college apparently comes with a superiority complex. He is quite tall, has messy brown hair and he is always wearing the exact same sports shirt whenever I see him. He is the sort of person you would expect to be a bully. The one thing I have over him though is better grades, because he's an idiot.

Katelyn is Josh's girlfriend, slim, pretty, has long blonde hair, light blue eyes and looks like she would be quite nice to talk to. Unfortunately, she's not. She is the richest and most spoilt kid in this place, to the point that I'm pretty sure she could pay the government to let her out of college early if she wanted to. That's probably why she has an A in everything despite not knowing what 2+2 is.

Greg is runt of the litter so to speak, terrible looks, terrible attitude and terrible grades. I think the only reason Josh and Katelyn keep him around is to do their dirty work, that and having free access to my dorm at all times, because no matter how many times I asked to get moved I am stuck with Greg as my roommate.

Anyways, I take the bucket of my head to see the three of them standing laughing at my predicament. "Wow, the bucket over the door trick, being real creative aren't we?" I don't even bother to hide my sarcasm.

"Yeah but it never fails to make you look utterly ridiculous!"

"Ha! Good one, Josh!"

"Shut up, Greg."

Josh is now glaring at Greg so I'm about to take this opportunity to leave, but unfortunately I forgot about Katelyn.

"Where do you think your going you little blindfolded freak? You have to do our physics homework."

"I'm not doing your homework, Katelyn."

Apparently, that was the wrong thing to say because Josh stopped glaring at Greg and turned his attention to me.

"Listen here freak, you will not speak to my girlfriend that way."

"What do mean? I literally just gave her a fact. I wasn't even being ru—"

I get cut off by a punch to face that Josh decided to so kindly give to me.

"How dare you talk back to me?! I am the best basketball player in the college and you will do what I say!"

I take a deep breath and walk away. I am absolutely done with them today.

"Hey! Where do you think your going? Get back here!"

I keep walking and eventually their yelling fades into the background. I know they'll probably just wait for me to return to my dorm and then beat me up but I just can't deal with them right now.

I find myself walking into the forest that's near my college. It's always so quiet and peaceful here, the only sounds being the chirping of the birds and rustling of the leaves. I use the time to clear my head and I find myself wishing I didn't have to go back to that awful college.

"Sabre..."

What the-

"Who's there?!"

There is no answer, not even the birds are chirping now. I realise I should probably start getting back but something seems to keep my feet rooted to the ground. I look around the area to see if I can see anyone who could of whispered to me and I notice a shadowy figure hiding between the trees.

"Follow me..."

The figure then proceeds to dart away into the trees and I get a tugging feeling, a want, a need to go in that direction, to follow the figure and see what it wants. I shake my head. This is crazy! I shouldn't follow creepy figures in the woods, that's how I get kidnapped or killed! But the other option is to return to my awful college and those three. Huh! Suddenly, getting kidnapped doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

The tugging feeling gets stronger and I allow it to pull me along and follow the figure. I travel deeper and deeper into the forest until I find a stairway into the earth. It's pitch black down there so I get out my com and use its flashlight to see down there.

On the walls there are strange carvings that I can't understand and down in the depths there appears to be a tomb. The tugging feeling multiplies tenfold and I take a deep breath before descending down the steps.

Once I get fully down the stairwell it is very clear that I've stumbled into a tomb, which probably means I've angered some strange ancient spirit or something. Great. Just perfect. I realise I should probably get out of here when a scripture on the side of the tomb catches my eye.

"The final door to a reality once known but sealed to eternity."

What's that supposed to mean? And why did I read it out loud?

My thoughts are cut off by the sound of thunder as lightning strikes the tomb. From it, a ghostly blue figure rises and stares down at me.

"Beware of unleashing a reality that was long sealed by an ancient race of beings..."

Ah, this must be the spirit I probably angered. Lovely. Welp, I will miss my time on Earth but it seems my journey is at an end. Actually, I won't miss my time on Earth, it kinda sucked...

"Hey man, look I'm sorry I woke you up and angered you or something but do you mind letting me go?"

"There is no way out..."

"Umm, actually, there's one right behind you."

I point to the stairwell that I climbed down and the spirit looks at it. As if on cue, the exit collapses.

"There is no way out..."

"Ok, well, now there isn't."

The spirit turns back to me and we both just kinda stare at each other for a minute.

"Sooo, are you like gonna kill me or something?"

"You have released these beings and now you will join them..."

"I'm sorry, what did I do?"

My answer is I get deafened by thunder as my vision fades to white.

=================

Welp here is the Prologue. Sorry if the bullies seemed a little bland, but they have no importance whatsoever so yeah.

I put this as a Prologue instead of Chapter 1 because there isn't much that is really to do with the AU, it's more of just Sabre backstory.

Also, sorry for any inaccuracies with the college, I haven't been to college so I don't know what it's like. Also, don't ask why I made Sabre a college student cause I really don't know.

Anyways, Lyra signing out!
