My chest is burning while my feet carry me as quick as I can possibly go.

A bullet flies past my head, missing me by only a mere inch or so.

"Ah!" I gasp, suprised by the noise and velocity from this chunk of flying metal.

I continue running, stumbling clumsily over my own feet. Shoving tree branches and bushes out of my path, I gasp and grunt from fatigue and pure fear.

"We can't lose her, hurry the fuck up!"

I continue sprinting while greedily taking in air. I reach a clearance in the woods, desperately searching for a place to hide.

I dash towards a large bush, practically diving into it. I do my best to regulate and quiet my breathing, but it is difficult.

My eyes dart around, scanning my surroundings. I feel like prey hiding from its preditor.

Abruptly, the back of my neck is grabbed and I am pushed into the ground.

"I found you little mouse."

I let out an audible grunt, suprised and hurt from the sudden movement. I can't help but have a sense of familiarity when I hear the voice.

"Let me go." My voice betraying me, coming out less confident than originally intended.

The voice merely chuckles, tightening their grip on the back of my neck as they push my face into the ground. They are straddling me as their legs pin my arms to my side.

"You thought you could escape me?" They taunt.

I grunt in response, wriggling in their grasp. "What the fuck do you want from me?"

The voice chuckles again, ignoring my question. "You look so good when you're under me," their voice sounds almost bored, "It's almost a shame that I have to kill you."

This causes me to squirm even harder. The voice sighs. "Don't even try, darling," they chuckle, "Accept your fate."

"Fuck you!" I yell, fighting harder.

The voice sighs, clearly irritated. In a quick movement, they flip me over so I'm on my back. They swiftly place their large hand over my eyes, leaning in so their face is right against my ear. I can feel the warmth of their breath on my neck. "I liked you better when you were afraid."

They pull their face away, slowly removing their hand from my eyes. This allows me for the first time to take in their appearance.

"G-Ghost?"

He smirks down at me, bringing his handgun to my forehead.

"Shh, Ana."

-

"Ana. Wake up, private."

I gasp, sitting up in my bed. My breathing is rapid as I look around the room frantically. I am met with a concerned pair of light coloured eyes.

"Ah!" I gasp, scooting backwards on my bed, still deciphering what is reality and what isn't.

"Ana, hey. Relax." The person with the concerned eyes tells me firmly. They watch me carefully, unsure of how to react.

I regulate my breathing, looking down at my hands, embarrassed.

"Sorry, Ghost," I breathe out, "You startled me."
