I land on the ground with a harsh thud.

I wince, glacing up at my opponent. "You didn't have to throw me that hard," I complain.

My opponent merely scoffs, offering me a hand up. "Again." He orders.

I swat his hand away, standing up on my own. "Don't touch me." I glare, facing him. "We've been sparing for at least 20 minutes. Can't we give it a rest?"

"No," he responds bluntly, "We're leaving for the mission in 2 days, rookie. You need to be ready."

"Oh, come on Ghost," a voice chimes in from the bench, "Let her have a break. Can't be easy getting your ass kicked for 20 minutes straight."

I glare at Keegan, "You know what?" I begin, "Why don't you get in here with me?" I challenge.

Keegan raises an eyebrow, "Are you sure you want that, sweetheart?" He taunts, "I won't go easy on you."

"Try me."

Ghost shakes his head, annoyed by our bickering. He steps off the mat and allows Keegan to take his place.

Keegan and I stand, facing each other. He looks excited. Even Köing sits up from his rested position to watch. Ghost has his eyes on us, not showing any emotion.

Keegan has a mischievous look on his face, eager to fight me. He appears to be sizing me up.

"You ready, sweetheart?"

"Ready."

After a short moment, Keegan runs at me going for a right hook.

I use my shorter stature to my advantage, ducking under his attempt.

Keegan looks suprised that I dodged the attack. Yet he smirks a bit as he runs at me again, going for a simple punch to my stomach.

My reaction time is quick, yet not quite quick enough. He grazes my stomach, causing me to let out a grunt.

I quickly retaliate with a strong kick to his side.

This knocks him back slightly. But he smiles once more, seeming to be delighted with the fact that I'm fighting like this.

He then runs at me, sweeping my feet out from under me.

Despite his success, I am able to recover quickly. I roll over my shoulder, giving me the momentum to stand.

Keegan smirks at the fact that I am still up even after getting swept. He then runs towards me before going to punch my stomach again. And from how he's acting, I can tell he's enjoying the fact that I'm throwing attacks as well.

I quickly step to the side, tripping him.

He falls to the ground, rolling onto his back. As soon as he hits the ground, he smiles and nods his head a bit. He seems impressed.

He grins, "Nice hit, rookie. You've got more fight in you than I thought."

Ghost is still watching us closely, yet he doesn't say anything.

"I didn't get recruited for no reason." I retort.

Keegan laughs, standing up. Even Köing lets out a chuckle.

"Alright Rookie, let's do this again."

We continue to fight, and it again ends with Keegan laying on his back. He isn't angry or upset though, he just gives me that same smirk.

"Nice work, Rookie. This is getting fun."

"Good work, Rookie." Ghost chimes in.

I quickly climb on top of Keegan, straddling him. In a quick movement, I pin his arms beside his head and laugh.
