N.B: If you haven't read 'Solar Eclipse of the Heart', then this probably won't make any sense
For the ones who missed Leo and Kam.
Also for the ones who missed the Sinclair shenanigans.Bonus Epilogue
[This takes place a month after Leo's father's funeral but before the actual epilogue which makes it pre-epilogue¿ either way, ENJOY!!]
"I can't believe the first time I get a tattoo, it will be more than one." I glanced around the tattoo parlor packed with the entire family, minus the parents and grandparents.
Joseph stared pointedly at Marissa. "At least all of them will have meaning."
She flipped him off with a sneer. "My frog with her mushroom hat has every bit of meaning as your ghost on a skateboard, jackass."
I chuckled under my breath and reached for Leo's hand. This wasn't a planned thing. Half of the side quests we'd been doing hadn't been planned. We were all lounging in the house, when Alex proposed we get one to mark this era. When asked what era we were marking, she'd shrugged and said, "Family tattoo era."
We took it and ran with it. It now became an unofficial rule that when you joined the family, you had to get a tattoo. One step closer to being an official cult.
Joseph and Marissa weren't new to the tattoo scene. According to them, they were long overdue for a new one anyways. Dylan had been meaning to get one but couldn't decide and was now leaving it in the hands of Alex, which was never a good idea, now that I thought about it.
Leo was just happy to be included. Again, I was baffled at how far he'd come. He was always down to try new things, and no matter which family rule popped up, he was more than ready to participate.
Like with presentation night where we did a PowerPoint presentation on any topic that we pulled out of a jar —he got why he could dominate the world. If anything hot spilled on the ground, we'd automatically imagine the floor was lava. Not to mention he always found the time to take me on a date, bring flowers home or hold me when I woke up with nightmares.
Alex clapped to gain everyone's attention, and we turned to face her. "Because I came up with the idea, I get to choose the tattoos."
"No," We all said without hesitation, stressing that simple word, except Dylan, who'd already given Alex the go-ahead.
She waved us off, not even offended, and pulled out her sketchpad, moving over to Leo and I. Turning to a page, she pointed to a small sketch of a crescent moon cradling the sun between the gap, surrounded by the constellations. "This is for you two because, well–" She looked between us. "I think it's self-explanatory."
"I love it," I whispered in awe. "So much."
Alex was particular about showing her art, much less making art for people unprovoked. But she created such a perfect tattoo for Leo that tears formed in my eyes. "Alex, thank you."Leo ran a hand over the sketch, and since I knew him well enough, I could tell he was getting emotional. "It's perfect."
She smiled and moved to Marissa. "You're getting Saturn." She pointed to Joseph. "And you're getting Titan, which is Saturn's moon and the largest in this solar system."
She stood in the middle of our little circle and started addressing everyone now. "Dylan is Earth because he's the most grounded out of all of us, and I'm Venus because, well..." I coughed a laugh and she flipped me off. "I also have surprise tattoos for each of you, but you guys are gonna have to trust me on those."
