Note: There has been some requests asking if I could add more "Lyrics" to each scene with a meaningful song to a couple or an event from many followers/readers, so trying it out here. Please let me know if it's too distracting or if it helps with imagining the scene or not. Also did this with some songs in 1.01 if you wanna check that out, and in the next couple of chapters which are mostly done.

Flashback 1

Night - Hospital - Morgue

AJ had just woken up again in the hospital, and all she wanted to do was see her parents.

Even though seeing them was seeing the proof that they were gone.

AJ's heart shattered upon seeing Adilah and Khalid's bodies on the tables in the morgue through the window. Her face crumbled as tears instantly formed and broke free, streaming down her face. She leaned her head against the glass, letting out a sob. "Please don't leave me."

But AJ knew that these words were said too late, and nothing could change what happened now.

Waiting Room

AJ was being discharged, her wounds from the glass bandaged and stitched.

An officer walked up to AJ. "Excuse me, you're the daughter?"

"Yes," AJ answered. "Did you find the guy who did this? Who killed my parents? Who damn well killed me. Conrad had to bring me back."

The officer sighed. "Not yet, miss. It's still in process."

AJ frowned. "What about security cameras from the bridge? You checked them? Or the ones from the street around the bridge?"

"I'm sure we'll get to it," the officer told her. "Don't worry."

AJ only got defensive and angry at those words, shaking her head. "What are you doing, huh? Don't be sure that you will, just do it already."

"Miss, please calm down," the officer told her.

"Just wondering what you're doing here instead of finding the guy who killed my family," AJ told him, her voice breaking with emotion.

Reagan took her arm. "AJ, stop. Leave it. It's not going to help anything."

AJ shook her head in tears. "I need some air."

AJ walked out of the hospital to the street outside, gasping for breath, clutching her chest, as it felt like her heart was ripped apart.

She may have been resuscitated, but she still felt dead inside.
