Flashback 1 - A Few Years Ago

Day - Beck House - Living Room

AJ turned on the song as she was trying to learn another dance, the shag, while she was sick at the time, but still wanting to dance even if it was something simple and easy given that her body was in a lot of pain right now.

AJ: (voice over) "One of my favorite memories of summer in Cousins started with a song and ended with a boy."

Conrad, Jeremiah, Steven and Percy were playing chess.

Belly watched AJ curiously but critically.

AJ turned toward the boys. "Stevie, I need a partner."

Steven scoffed. "Yeah, right."

"Jere?" AJ asked.

"We're playing a game, AJ," Jeremiah told her.

"I don't know how to dance, otherwise I would," Percy added.

AJ tilted her head back, turning away.

Conrad gave Steven and Jeremiah a look, before turning to AJ. "I'll dance with you."

"What about the game?" Jeremiah asked.

"Give me a second," Conrad told them, standing, walking toward AJ. AJ smiled at Conrad coming up to dance with her. "You're an insane dancer in other dances, but you don't know how to shag?"

"Sue me," AJ replied.

Conrad smiled. "Copy me." As he danced, AJ followed and picked up the moves incredibly quickly. "One, two-three. One, two-three. Rock step."

AJ definitely loved just losing herself in the music.

Belly glared with a pout, thinking that AJ was showing off, not just doing something that she loved and was passionate about, hating that she was dancing with Conrad.

Belly stood, trying to do the dancing.

"Belly, you're not even on the beat," Steven told her, causing him and Jeremiah to laugh.

Conrad and AJ didn't even seem to notice this as they were still dancing.

"How'd you learn to shag?" AJ asked.

"My mom," Conrad answered.

AJ laughed lightly. They continued dancing at ease for a while, big smiles on their faces. Conrad spun AJ around as they continued the same steps, his arms around her, before spinning her away. AJ, of course, got everything down mostly on the first try without many mistakes, and they were laughing and smiling the entire time, just having a lot of fun.

Morning - Reagan's House - Percy's Room

Having stayed the night, and spiraling so much after what happened the night before, Percy was working out like a maniac, before checking his weight on a scale, and then going for a run. Despite how sick he felt and looked, like he could barely breathe or even move. He finally had to stop when he couldn't take it anymore, looking like he could pass out at a moment's notice, hands on his knees to try and keep himself standing.
