An alarm clock rang loudly, vibrating on the nightstand it stood on. A hand flew out from under the blankets and hit the clock with enough force to push it off the table. "Five more minutes...." Mumbled a voice beneath the cocoon of bedsheets.
A door opened, and a figure leaned against the doorframe with a smirk on their face and their arms crossed. "It's the first day of school, kid. Don't wanna be late to see your boyfriend, do you?"
The figure on the bed sat up, pushing the mountain of bedsheets off their body. They rubbed their eyes and brushed a hand through their shirt, strawberry blonde hair. "You're the worst." They mumbled tiredly.
"You say that now, but I've just made your favourite breakfast. Hurry up and get dressed before it gets cold." Jayme smiled.
Sah rolled their eyes and nodded, yawning as they rolled over and sat on the edge of their bed and stood up. Jayme hummed and left the room, closing the door to as she walked off back to the kitchen.
"It's too early for this shit." Sah muttered under their breath as they crossed the room to their dresser and pulled out the clothes they were going to wear; a stonewashed grey band t-shirt, black faded jeans and a pair of Doc Martens. They pulled the shirt and jeans on, and grabbed a belt from their desk before pulling on their shoes and grabbing one of Teddy's jackets that they had stolen from him. Once they were ready, they left the room and walked into the bathroom to brush their hair and freshen up. Once they were finished, they left the bathroom and walked downstairs to the kitchen.
"Morning, kiddo." Their father greeted them with a smile and a nod. "Ready for your first day back?"
"Not entirely, but as long as Teddy's there, I'll be fine."
Jayme dlid a plate across the kitchen counter, and them passed them a coffee. "Here, breakfast." She said before reaching a hand up to tousle their hair.
"Jayme, stop!" Sah giggled and pulled away. "You're so annoying."
"But you still love me." Jayme smirked. Sah hummed and sat down beside Kevin. "Do you want me to drop you off at school this morning?" She asked, sitting down with her own breakfast and a coffee.
"I think Teddy's coming over so we can walk there together." Sah shook their head. "Thanks, though."
"No worries. I could always give you both a lift? I'm heading that way anyway."
As if on cue, the doorbell rang. Sah jumped up from their seat and walked off to answer the door. Standing on the other side of the door, a bouquet of flowers clutched in his hands and a blush on his face, was Theodore "Teddy" Gowan, Sah's boyfriend of 1 year.
"Good morning, my dear." He greeted with a smile that lit up his entire face. Sah took the flowers from him and dragged him inside.
"You seriously didn't need to bring me flowers every morning, Ted." They chuckled as Teddy slithered his arms out of the straps of his school bag and jacket. Teddy turned his head to face them.
"Oh? So what else does my handsome partner want me to bring instead?" He teased. "Besides, the flowers were actually Marcus' idea. They're a "love language" apparently."
Sah rolled their eyes fondly and kissed him on the cheek as they walked deeper into the house. Teddy quickly followed.
Kevin and Jayme were talking in the kitchen when the pair entered the room. Upon seeing Teddy walk in, Kevin beamed. "Ah, there he is! Come and sit yourself down, Teddy. Jayme made plenty of breakfast this morning."
Teddy, never one to refuse a free meal, especially from his partner's family, immediately sat down at the table as Jayme passed him a plate of breakfast pancakes. Kevin handed him a cup of coffee, and Teddy immediately dug in.
