Beneath the Skin

Chapter 3: Feelings.

~It's not a cry for attention, she just wants to feel anything other than the pain.~

  Holly's POV

   I wake up in a really good mood, maybe because I have the coolest new friend. Or maybe because it's summer. Who knows. I hear my phone ring so I go to grab it and see that it's Elizabeth. She asks me if I can come over around 5 to babysit Sky. Obviously, I say yes.

  I look at the clock and see it says 3, so I decide to shower and do my hair. I don't wear makeup so I just straighten and brush my hair. I look in the mirror and I'm pretty satisfied.

  I check the time and see it's 4:15. I decide to head over even though it's kinda early. As I walk up, Nash opens the door and runs into me.

  "Oh, sorry Holly. Uh.." he says

  "It's cool. What are you doing?"

  "Well I was going to sneak to a party."

  "Or you could go back inside and not get in trouble." I reply sassily than I meant.

  "Whatever." he says and rolls his eyes.

  As we walk into his house, his mom greets us. Nash goes up to his room and Elizabeth tells me Sky's usual schedule and what time she'll be home. I nod and she leaves.

   "Wanna play horse with me?" Sky asks cheerfully.

   I nod and we go play horses for a bit until Sky starts rubbing her eyes. I put her to bed then walk out to chill. As I walk out of Sky's room, I'm startled by Nash standing against the wall.

   "Oh god, you scared the shit out of me!" I exclaim.

   "Sorry, but can I talk to you in my room?" he asks, smirking.

   "Sure." I say as I follow him into the room.

   "Holly, I don't think we should be friends anymore. I kinda have feelings for you and I can't let that happen. I mean, look at me. I'm the bad boy. Feelings aren't part of that."

   "Um, okay." I reply, slightly confused.

   As I turn the leave the room, I feel Nash grab my arm.

   "What are you-" I get cut off by Nash slamming me into the wall and kissing me.

   I pull away and walk down to the living room, still trying to gather my thoughts. I play on my phone for a while until I hear Elizabeth walk in.

  "Any problems?" she asks.

   "No maam. Sky went to sleep instantly." I reply smiling.

   "Okay, thank you. Here's $15. Think you can become her new babysitter?"

   "Of course! I'd love to."

   "Thank you, I'll give you a call next time I need a sitter." She says smiling.

  "Okay, night." I reply as I walk to my house.

   I walk up to my room, really confused. Nash says he doesn't wanna be friends? Fine. We won't be.
