Chapter 19: Honeymoon Phase

Your night is filled with text messages from Vincent. Every time you send him anything he immediately texts back. You love it. The feeling of someone wanting to talk to you so badly is amazing.

You:
No, Scott is being kinda annoying.

Vincent:
I know right? I feel bad for you.

You:
Ah don't. He's not the first guy to be shit to me.

Vincent:
You deserve so much better. I'll protect you from Scott if you want.

You laugh out loud. He sounds like your typical nice guy or like some kind of pick me. But now that you're thinking about it it could be helpful.

You:
Actually, if I ever have to confront him I would like you to be there.

Vincent:
I will! Just tell me if anything like that happens.

Speaking of Scott, guess who decided to send you a whole paragraph.

Scott:
Hey, I wanted to talk to you about what happened. It's been really eating me up. You had been acting really weird around me before and then you just pull something like that? I've been thinking about this a lot and I'd like to be on good terms with you again. So I'd really appreciate it if you'd apologize.

You immediately screenshot it and send it to Vincent.

You:
HAHAHAH LOOK AT THIS LOSER

Vincent:
He really did that.

You can barely believe what you read. He should be the one to apologize. You decide to ignore his message until he sends another.

Scott:
You there? I can see you're online.

Wow what a weirdo. You once again decide to ignore him. A quick glance at the clock on your bedside table shows that you should really get some sleep so you can get up for work tomorrow.

You:
Alright Vincent I'm gonna head to sleep. Night.

Vincent:
Alright! Good night 💜

You make a note of the heart he put next to his "good night" and put your phone on the charger. It takes only a second for you to fall asleep and dream about your favorite purple guy.

----------------------Time Skip----------------------

The morning goes as usual: You make a quick breakfast, get ready for the day and head to work. When you get to the parking lot you notice Vincent is already here because of his stupidly vibrant purple car. In the employee's only room you find him seemingly doing nothing. He jumps up from the chair he's sitting in and excitedly greets you.

Vincent: " Hey! I was waiting for you. "

Before you answer you smile lovingly. Vincent has really grown on you.

You: " Morning to you too! Who are we working with?"

He turns around and checks the paper. With his finger skimming down the page he searches. It takes him a little while to be able to tell you who your partner is going to be. You're getting a little impatient until he suddenly jumps up and turns around to face you again.

Vincent: " It's Jeremy. "

You: " Oh, I've never really properly met him before."

Vincent: " Well, you don't have to! You can just spend the day with me again! "

You give him a sweet smile signifying you'd be totally okay with that. But you do want to meet Jeremy. Afterall it's probably your fault that he has to work the day shift with you.
