February 14, 2012. Saint Jamison Middle School
~Erica~

I leaned up against my locker, folding and unfolding my little paper trick. To show a different pattern, you had to unfold it a certain way. I punch the combo into my locker, and put it away. I reached in a grabbed my math book, and a small paper heart. The school didn't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but you were allowed to give cards at lunch. I had a different idea.

I pulled down my knee length pink skirt, and adjusted my white leggings and blue shirt. I pulled my amber hair into a braid, and tied it off at my shoulder. I put the heart into my book, "The Wrong Agent", and closed my eyes. I raised my head, and marched off towards home room with my piccolo trumpet, an instrument of my own invention. It had been recently added to our school band, and I was the only one on it, as the notes and fingerings were still being made.

I finally got to Ms. Chandra's home room, and took my assigned seat next to Katherine McScotts. The only cheerleader, who was actually like the ones in every movie and book. Man-eaters with a giggly and constant bubbly aditude. She was always hanging on Casey, and because he was on the foot ball team, she spent every moment with him. I despised her, with a deep, dark hatred, that was never apart of my true to earth, nice person personality.

I turned and looked at Casey, and when I saw his eyes on me, I blushed, and looked away. When I looked back at him, Katherine was doing her man-eater thing. That was the last straw for me. She looked at me, and kissed him. I stood up and walked over to them. I could see Casey was frozen with fear. I pushed her away, and looked at him.

"Casey, in celebration of this holiday, I wondered if you would do me the immense honor of being my Valentine." I a nerdy band girl, was asking the varsity QB, to be my valentine. Labels never mattered to me.

"Erica, despite the odds of me not quite knowing the full meaning of immense, I agree." Casey picked me up and spun me around, even though he got a glare from the tears eyed teacher. He put me down, and we looked into each other's eyes. What we saw was true love, and we both knew it was the same for both of us.

"Casey, by the way, immense means great, huge, enormous, and anything in that category. I love you."

"I love you to Erica."
