A/N: I've done a few JIBBS oneshots on Jen having nightmares so I've decided to torture Gibbs because my writer's block is back on another JIBBS story I'm writing. Hope you enjoy, Angels.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs wakes up from his fifth nightmare in a row with a gasp. He had the damn nightmare again: the one where he and Jen are in the field and in a shootout with their killer and a bullet hits Jen square in her Kevlar free  chest, which she didn't have time to strap on before the killer started popping off shots at them.

He drops his SIG Sauer in the snow and catches his faded redheaded ex-lover just before she hits the snow, cradling her in his arms. He knows she's dead instantly but he doesn't do anything, doesn't make a sound as the gunfire stops and the double killer runs away while he stares at Jen's beautiful face as her blood covers her once white shirt, dripping into the snow, turning it bright red.

He closes her dull green eyes and kisses her already ice cold lips, tears spilling from his eyes and landing on her face, like she's crying along with him.

"I love you, Jen." He whispers to her before he just stares at her.

He lost her once and she came back and yea lost her again but she's not coming back this time.

Then he wakes up, gasping, reaching around his bed for the redhead that hasn't been beside him for eight years. He looks at the time on his cell phone that's beside him underneath the boat: 0230. Well he's not going to get anymore sleep tonight so he might as well go to the office and catch up on the overflowing paperwork that's accumulated on his desk over the past few weeks while the building is empty.

He enters the MCRT bullpen at 0230 in the morning with a travel cup full of coffee. The former marine sits at his desk with a groan as he turns his desk lamp on. He's not had an uninterrupted, nightmare free sleep for the past few weeks and it's starting to catch up to him. He can't close his eyes without seeing Jen, covered in blood, dead and in his arms out of his head. Every night he wakes up after the nightmare, he fights the urge to grab his cell, press speed dial number 1 and call her to make sure she's alone but he doesn't. He doesn't have the right to call her in the middle of the night and check up on her just because his brain is torturing him.

"Jethro, what the hell are you doing here?" A familiar voice asks him from in front of his desk. He looks up and sees the redheaded woman that's been dying in his arms for the past five nights in a row, wearing grey sweats and one of his black USMC t-shirts, the one she wore to bed while they were in Europe together undercover, her long red hair in a ponytail with three bags on her shoulders.

"I could ask what you are doing here at 0315 in the morning, Jen?" He counters back, taking a sip of his coffee. Jen smirks as she takes the cup out of his hand and sips it without asking and grimacing at the bitter taste of his coffee.

"Ugh! I asked you first." Is her reply as her nose scrunches up adorably as she tastes the aftertaste of his coffee, shrugging her shoulder. "Can't sleep." She says simply, handing his coffee back to him. "What about you?" She asks, sitting on the edge of his desk, looking at him with those bright green emerald eyes of hers. Her question is full of concern for him. Should he tell her about the nightmares? About how he's forced to watch as she's gunned down in front of him and he can't even attempt to save her because she's already dead as he catches her in his arms?

He sighs as he closes his eyes which is a mistake. Again he's sent to his own personal hell where he just about catches a dead Jen in his arms.

"Nightmares." He mumbles gruffly. He hears Jen exhale.

"Oh, Jethro." She says softly, reaching to place her hand over his own, it's warm and soft on top of his calloused one. "Are you okay?" Jethro looks at the redhead and gives her a small smile in the dark bullpen with only his desk lamp giving off a very small bit of light. Jethro sees her bright emerald green eyes sparkling and that's something he's not seen in his nightmares. He squeezes her hand.

"I am now." The former Marine Sniper says gently.

A/N: Another JIBBS oneshot. I've had writers block on all of my stories for the past week so sorry for being absent, hope you enjoy, Angels.
