How it all started

*FLASHBACK*
Liam's p.o.v-

Tomorrow was the first day of sophomore year. I hopped out the shower and wrapped a towel around my waist. I got dressed in a pair of sweats and a white beater, then suddenly I heard a noise from outside I ignored it and went to go lie down but I heard it again. I put on my hoodie and grabbed my bat from besides my bed and went down stairs, when I got downstairs I opened the door, slowly stepping out on to the front porch. Holding the bat tight in both hands I looked around and saw nothing there, I was about to go back inside, then all of a sudden Mason jumped down from the roof making both of us scream and me almost hit him with the bat
Liam- Mason what the hell are you doing?!

Mason- you weren't answering your phone! Why the hell do you have a bat!?

Liam- I thought you were a predator or something

Mason- a preda- hahah but anyways listen to this I was listening to one of my dads calls and they're bringing every deputy from beacon county even the state police

Masons dad was a deputy

Liam- what for?

Mason- two joggers were running and they found a body

My eyes widened and I put the bat down.

Liam- whoaa you mean like a dead body?

Mason- noooo I mean a body of salt, yes dumbass a dead body

I rolled my eyes

Mason- oh here comes the best part they only found half of the body, we're totally going
- time skip -

Liam- are we seriously doing this?

Mason- hey your the one always bitching tht nothing interesting in this town ever happens

Liam- yea but we have lacrosse practice tomorrow

Mason- oh yeahhh because sitting on the bench is the best part about being on the team

Liam- I'm making the team this year, actually I'm going to be first line

Mason- keep telling yourself tht it actually might happen

Liam- wait exactly which half of the the body are we looking for?

Mason- hmm thts a very good question I'm going to have to get back to you on tht one

Liam- and how do we know if the body is still there?
He laughed

Mason- another good question
As we trudged up a hill I started to fall behind
Mason- come on

Liam- um did you forget tht I have bad asthma ?
I stopped and rested on a tree taking hits off of my inhaler. I looked up and saw tht Mason was gone, as I was trying to keep from getting caught by one of the searchers Mason runs into a deputy and his k-9 causing the deputy to shout at him, then Mason's dad Deputy Smith stopped him realizing it was his son

Deputy Smith- you've been listening to my calls haven't you?

Mason- well no... Not the boring ones

It started raining wonderful

Deputy Smith- where's your usual partner in crime ?

Mason- Liam? Oh he's at home he wanted to get a good night sleep for the first day of school tomorrow

Not believing him, he shines his light into the woods

Deputy Smith- Liam!

I pressed my back against a tree and held my breath

Mason- see told yah

Deputy Smith- ok I'm going to walk you back to your car and we're going to have a talk about invading my privacy

Damnit!

I started walking back to my house, then I heard something. I stopped and looked in the direction the noise came from, I was about to take a hit from my inhaler when a herd of deer came running, I panicked and fell to the floor my inhaler flying out of my hand. After that were no more deer, I got up looking for my inhaler using my phone as a flashlight. I was ruffling through the leaves when I came across a upper half of a dead body, startled I fell backwards rolling down a hill hitting a tree in the process. I got up groaning in pain, I started waking again but then I heard a low growl making me stop dead in my tracks. Slowly turning around I saw a wolf like creature with glowing red eyes standing a couple feet away.

The wolf tackled me to the ground, I tried to crawl away but it pulled me two wards it and I felt a stinging pain in my side. I got up and staring running breathing hard from fear clutching my side I heard a wolf howl in the distance. I stopped when I reached the road, I lifted up my shirt revealing a huge bite mark with blood coming from it.
