Chasing You

Enzo's Story Part Two

"Rue!" you could hear the excitement in Pansy's voice when she see's the Hufflepuff.

Pansy has always struggled to make friend's with other girls. She chalked it up to jealously on their part, either way it's always just been Pansy and the boys. Until Rue came tagging along with Enzo one random day, ever since then it's always been Rue and the Slytherin's.

They have never met anyone so happy and carefree. Rue had this way of making you feel comfortable, seen, heard, loved. It was also nice having someone who was incredibly good at baking and always brought treats with her when she came to hang out with them. The Slytherin's protected her fiercely....they would do anything for her.

Pansy went to help her as she walked with a stack of food and treats towering in her arms blocking her vision. She didn't know how Rue made it here without a food causality.

"Here let me help" Pansy offered as she took half of the stack of Tupperware. "This is a lot of food, Rue." she states as they walked towards the entrance of Slytherin.

"Yeah....I just couldn't stop baking tonight. I do that when I'm stressed or anxious." she tells her.

"Is everything okay?" Pansy asked concerned crossing her face as she watched her friend carefully.

Rue's face scrunched in embarrassment thinking back to her early interaction with Enzo in the corridor outside the great hall. "Oh no I'm fine! I promise...might have embarrassed myself a bit in front of Enzo is all." she gives Pansy a smile to reassure her.

They walk through the doors as they come up to the common room. "Rue you're here!" Mattheo shouts jogging over to help grab the Tupperware full of food from her.

"This is a massive amount of food tonight!" Draco looks everything over.

"I think Rue wants us to get plump" Theo chuckles as he inspects the food for his favorite lemon curd cookies she makes.

Rue starts handing everyone their own Tupperware full of their favorites. Mattheo comes up to her wrapping her in a huge hug before kissing her cheek, making Rue blush fiercely. "I love you Rue" he winks before taking a seat on one of the leather couches ripping the lid off his goodie box.

Rue grabs a few of the Tupperware that has the food she made for her and Enzo's movie tonight. She heads up towards the men's dormitory trying to take deep breathes, calming her nerves.

Every Friday night her and Enzo would get together and watch a movie, it was a tradition they started after they got sorted into different houses. It was their small way of being able to still see each other, not that they didn't have a ton of classes together. But nights like these were different, it was special to her. Rue was nervous tonight to see him, something had upset Enzo this morning causing him to treat her oddly. Even though he told her he wasn't mad with her, she still couldn't help the anxious thoughts clouding her judgement.

She gets to his dorm the big oak door staring her right in the face as she takes one more deep breath. She knocks on it, he opens the door within seconds.

"Kangarue!" he smiles helping take the Tupperware out of her hands.

Her breath caught as she took him in, his hair was all messy and still a bit wet from a shower, he was wearing sweatpants tonight.....he looked really good in sweatpants, she thought. Was it just her or did his eyes seem to twinkle when he saw her.

She stood in his doorway just looking at him like a first year with a big fat crush. What was Rue kidding, she has been completely, utterly, and obsessively crushing on her best friend since the moment she met him. But guys like Enzo don't like girls like Rue, they like girls like Daphne Greengrass.
