"Littlepaw! Fringpaw! Bramblepaw!"

Littlepaw felt a wave of warmth flood over her as she heard her clanmates chanting her new name. She turned to gaze over the crowd of cats, her mother, Daisyhare stood at the back of the crowd. She hadn't cheered at all and was watching with a cold, unreable expression.

Littlepaw knew she was still angry over the fact that she had become a warrior apprentice instead of a medicine cat.

But Littlepaw had always wanted to be a warrior, and feel the thrill of hunting and fighting for her clan, Or nursing her very own kits in the nursery with her very own mate. She couldn't do any of that as a Medicine cat.

Littlepaw tore her gaze away from her Mothers disapproving stare, and caught the eyes of Screechcreek, her new mentor. She padded up to him, forgetting all the previous tension with her Mother. "Will we get to tour the territory now?" she meowed, her voice was steady but her eyes betrayed her emotions as they sparkled in the sunlight.

"Tour the territory? Are you sure? You've only just become an apprentice. Go and thank Shredstar first and then we can go" Screechcreek chucked, flicking his tail over her nose playfully.

Littlepaw nodded, and bounded away towards the leader, just in time to over hear Schreechcreek meow "Young cats these days!" to Oakfall, one of the elders. She stifled back a purr as she skidded to a sharp halt behind the Leader.

Shredstar was assigning patrols to some of the senior warriors, as Crowmoss greeted his new apprentice Bramblepaw unenthusiastically. "Hello Littlepaw. Congradulations on your Apprenticeship, I am sure Daisyhare and Singfish are very proud of you!" He mewed, turning away from the waiting cats. He quickly touched noses to her, and padded away.

Yeah, right. I'm sure Singfish is proud of me, but Daisyhare... Not so much....

Littlepaw turned to look back at her Mentor, who was nodding his approval. She padded over to him, and waited for his cue to leave. "Would you like to wait for the others?" He asked, flicking his tail towards Bramblepaw and Fringpaw, who were speaking with their Mother.

"No thank you, I'm sure they are going to take ages. I want to go NOW!" she mewed, rolling her eyes.

"Alright then, Let's go"
