My phone buzzed and I instantly looked down. I had been waiting on Emilia's text for almost an hour now.
*I'm outside your house, come*
Emelia had promised to take me out for a fancy, gourmet dinner after what she did to me last week. I was really hungry and I was getting quite impatient.
I slipped on my heels and looked in the mirror one last time, checking to see if my caked up face still looked okay before opening the door and walking out to Emelia's car. It was sort of dark but I found my way. I was pretty damn clumsy so I mentally praised myself for getting to the car door in one piece.
My best friend flashed a sparkling smile as I managed to get in. I looked her up and down and then proceeded to do so again at my dress-clad body. Jeans and a t-shirt?
"Nice outfit, ready to go?" she smirked.
"Wait, wha-" and before I could finish, she sped off.
Emelia blasted the radio so I didn't even try to talk. After a few minutes of driving, we pulled up to a McDonald's. I frowned, looking at Emelia with a confused expression on my face.
"You're just grabbing coffee, right?" I asked her, even though I knew the answer.
"No, stupid. This is where we're eating dinner," she grinned.
"Sorry, what?" I probably heard her wrong.
"We're eating dinner here," Emelia repeated with an annoyed look on her face.
"But-" The car door slamming after Emelia cut me off.
I opened my door, still in confusion, and gently closed it behind me. I didn't want to wreck her car but it didn't seem like she minded.
I waddled over to the entrance of McDonald's and walked in. Walking in high heels still wasn't something I had mastered.
As I took a seat on one side of a booth near the window at the back of the small restaurant, I looked over at Emelia and watched her order us some food. She knew my order. I mean, as much as I loved McDonald's, this isn't what I expected. I frowned once again as I realized I had curled my hair, put on more than minimal makeup and wore one of my fanciest dresses for a trip to this fast food restaurant.
Glancing around the room, my eye caught one person in particular. A boy. I had never talked to a boy before but something about this dark haired, hazel eyed one was drawing me in.
My eyes never left him as Emelia came back with our tray of food.
"Yasmin!" Emelia smacked me in the head. "I've called your name at least 10 times."
I glanced over at her with a smile, "Yeah, what?"
Emelia rolled her eyes and took a seat across from me. The gorgeous boy I had spotted earlier walked towards us. Was he coming to talk to me? I think so-
My heart sank a bit when he took a seat on the table beside us. The whole time we ate, I couldn't help but stare at the mysterious boy. The way he popped his fries in his mouth was so... dreamy. A glob of ketchup was smeared on his face and I wanted to just reach over and wipe it off.
I cleared my throat and stood up. I was going to make my move now. I had seen him stare over a few times but that could've also been because of my get up. 'Here goes nothing' I thought.
As I took one step forward, my whole body swung forward, my foot completely slipped and before I knew it, I had landed smack on my back. I rubbed the back of my head and winced before I looked to the side and noticed a large, yellow 'wet floor' sign.
