Ugh... What is that sound? Oh shit! No, keep your calm, he could be watching, but why haven't I been attacked yet? Why is their... it sounds like...crying? Most importantly, why am I talking to myself?! Okay, on the count of three, I'll wake up, and and have the element of surprise. One... Two... Three!
I sprang up, and instantly felt the searing pain in my side, but I ignored it, and went to grab the pocketknife under the pillow.
"What the hell! Where's my..." I muttered, and common sense hit me when someone screamed in the room. I whipped my head around and looked around. The room was unfamiliar, and so were the people inside it? Confusion shown in my eyes as 11 people surrounded one spot in the room protectively. They all seemed to be males, ranging from different age and appearances. There was also a woman standing there, gauging me. She was wearing a white lab coat, with her hair pinned up in a neat bun, and she had a stethoscope hanging around her neck. I could only guess that she was a doctor, but why would I need a doctor when I was dead? Unless...
"No...," I whispered horrified, "no, no, no, no! No, it's not possible, not possible!"
"I'm not alive, I can't be alive! I'm supposed to be dead," I muttered to myself, patting my body, but when my hands wouldn't go through, I looked around at everyone, horrified.
"I'm alive? I'm alive... Nooooo! Why? Why couldn't I have died? Why?" I sobbed, lying back down on the bed.
I felt the bed dip as someone sat down. The bed creaked and someone started to gently stroke my hair. Once I noticed, I immediately went into attack mode, and bolted into an upright position, but hissed in pain as my side announced its appearance again.
"The stitches! Lay down, lay down already! I said lay down! Oh no, they popped out, that means that I have to redo them! Ah, the blood! Oh my god, save yourself, and LY DOWN!" the doctor ordered forcefully, almost yelling, and pushed me down.
I looked at what I was wearing, and noticed that someone had changed my clothes for a tank top and short shorts. They had cut open the side of the tank top to access my wound better. For a doctor, she had rather clumsy fingers. She dropped the needle twice, which meant she had to sterilize them again, and couldn't put the string inside the loop. The pain was starting to become unbearable, and to save myself from more pain, I snatched the needle and string from her. I looped it in properly, and moved so I could see the wound clearly. I grabbed a pillow and stuffed it into my mouth before inserting the needle. I bit on the pillow when it hurt, but I skillfully weaved the needle in and out of my wound, and it was sealed and knotted in less than five minutes. I let go of the pillow, and handed the needle back to the doctor, noting that she was staring at me in amazement.
"How do you know how to stitch like that?" the doctor asked, her eyes shining as she looked at it.
The males in the room started to gather around her to look at the stitches. I tried to quickly grab the blanket and pulled it over my body, but the edges were stuck under the bed, and I couldn't free them. I whimpered and looked for a way out, an escape exit. When nothing came up, I sighed and steeled myself for what was to come. They all crowded around and looked at me. First at my side, which was the most prominent part of my body. Then at all the other scars over my body. The males all looked at them curiously, and tried to look at my left arm, but I quickly hid it from their view.
I looked around at the room again. The walls were a deep purple, almost black colour. One wall was of complete glass, with the shades drawn over them. The bed was positioned in the middle of the left wall of the main doors. On the wall opposite of the bed, their was a desk in the middle, and a bookshelf on the left of it, with a door beside it. The room was bare, and very spacious. It was too spacious for my liking though. All I felt was emptiness from this room, even with 13 people in it.
