(Ashon's POV)

"...sh....Ash.......Ash" a boy with black hair calls my name. But I can't see his facial features properly.

Yes.

"I like you. I like you a lot."

I like you too.

"So...you must...."

What? I can't hear you.

"....Goodbye."

No. Don't go. Don't leave me alone in this hell!

The boy suddenly grows taller and older. All I can see is his broad back moving away from me.

Please no.

"Ugh...!"

A harsh sigh escaped from between my lips as I abruptly opened my eyes and woke up. I gasped. Clutching the quilt.

What kind of dream was it?

I blinked my eyes trying to catch the remnants of the dream. It felt as though I had a long dream, but I couldn't remember it properly.

Instead, a feeling of sadness and melancholy arose in my heart.

"Hah.." I sighed once again, failing to recall the dream.

I tried to calm my pounding heart by breathing in and out for a long while. Even after waking up, my body still felt heavy.

As I blinked a few times while still on my bed, trying to process my mind to wake my brain up as well, my vision gradually became clearer and sleepiness disappeared.

I forced myself to sit up. My body droopy like wet cotton.

"Your highness! You're awake!"

As soon as I sat up a voice of welcome was heard.

"What a relief!"

"Felix..."

I frowned at Felix's face as he approached me to check up on me. His voice was so loud that my head was ringing.

"Quietly"

A dry voice I couldn't recognise came out of my mouth. Like my throat had dried up and cracked in a long drought.

"My Apologies" he bows his head in apology and examines my pale face, worry etched across his face.

Felix has been my close aid, for many years now and I really appreciate having as loyal a person as him by my side. As my friend as well as my aid.

"Would you like some water?" he asks.

He grabbed the jar on the table, relieved that I was in better shape than expected. I was unconscious for a long while, so my throat had dried up. I grabbed the glass of water he offered me.

"Please drink slowly"

As I brought the glass to my mouth. Cool water moistened my chapped pale lips and flowed into my dry mouth.

"Cough!"

As soon as I drank a sip of water, I coughed. And due to that, the cup fell from my hand. Fortunately, thanks to Felix's quick reflexes, he caught the glass on time just before it touched the floor.

"A-Are you alright your highness?"

"Cough, cough, cough!"

I crouched and coughed continuously. Felix patted me on the back with a bewildered face.

"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry." Felix apologised with a tearful look.

I coughed a few more times and gestured that I would was okay. I choked while drinking in a hurry, there was nothing for Felix to apologise for.

As I barely stopped coughing, I leaned against the headboard with a tired face.

"So, how long was I unconscious for?"

"It was three days this time, your highness"

Felix replied, concern clear in his voice.

"Three days...I was unconscious for longer this time." I muttered, sighing. I clenched and opened my fists slowly with an expressionless face. There was a purple bruise on my wrist.

Damn it.

I think at one moment my expression must have distorted as I stared at the tips of my trembling finger.

I recalled the situation before I lost consciousness as calmly as possible. This heat cycle came without warning. Since, it had been almost half a year since a heat cycle came, the intensity was also strong.

--------(Flashback)

As soon as I noticed that it was a heat cycle, I locked the door. I tried to suppress my heated body through sedatives brought by the doctor. But none of it worked and I lost control of myself. I couldn't get myself together because of the cravings that filled my head.

"AHHH...AGH..!!

"Hic...ah..ngh!! Somebody, help.......no, PLEASE!!"

"Anyone please..."

When my instinct as an omega was not resolved, my reason disappeared. Having lost my senses, I howled almost like an animal. I couldn't fall asleep even after taking sleeping pills.

I didn't know what terrible things would have happened if I hadn't tied my wrists and ankles in anticipation of losing my reasoning.

At some point, it was just a blackout. I was either completely blown away or I was out of my mind, it was one of the two.

--------(Flashback over)

I gave up searching on the faint memories, and gave up thinking. And I asked Felix what I was curious about.

"Hah...What did the doctor say?"

"He thinks you're experiencing side effects from the suppressants. He will soon visit your highness, and conduct an examination, then make a new medicine according to the results."

"While you're at it, tell him to change the sedatives. I think I have developed a tolerance"

"Yes, your highness."

I nodded instead of answering. Maybe because I woke up after a few days, I was hungry and I had a headache. Just as I thought I should eat something.

Knock. Knock.

"Your highness" I heard a small voice come from outside the door.

"Who is it? Did I not order the servants to stay away?" Felix answered on my behalf, understanding my condition.

"The Empress has summoned his highness. She wants him to come to the palace at once." replied the servant outside my room.

"His Highness, needs rest right now!" he shouted.

"Felix. There's no need to decline. Inform her that will visit her immediately" I answered, sweat dripping from my forehead.

I must go if she wishes to see me.
