A group of girl friends who have been together since as long as they could remember.
They shared theirs laughs, cries, food, fights and what not.
If one backed down, others would stand up for her.
But now that they were growing up, there came in cru...
A stream people only go for cause they don't have the thing in them to be someone great one day,
A stream for average kids,
A stream which is looked down upon,
And a stream where kids go only to have fun.
They have little to no aspiration in their lives.
That used to be the stereotype of a commerce student in my society.
A child was only the pride of their parents if he/she chose science stream.
Yes no debate on the point that I belong to an Asian family, a brown kid if you may say so.
So consider the shock they all had to face when an A grade student chose to go for commerce instead of it being alloted to her for her low marks.
Yeah no kidding.
It felt like I was doing a sin greater that the one that the people do when they decide to make a movie out of a book whose plot is loved by almost everyone and No one could even think of it as ever turning out to be less than extraordinary and the next day you see the tabloid filled with announcements of an unknown middle aged man playing a role of the most beloved second male lead/the misunderstood villain/ the kind hearted boyfriend and turning out as a polor opposite of everyone's imagination and then you start questioning the common sense of these people and you realize the reason why you had stopped expecting from this world a long time ago.
So it would've been logical if my family had opposed me, but no somehow they were okay with my decision some even praising me that I understand the coming demands of the market
But it was my teachers, some of my classmates and the ones well to whom I had to explain why I am asking for the commerce seat even if my percentages were enough to get me a science one.
They were not ready to believe until my results of last year came, but that isn't important.
The point is none of my friends from my group chose commerce cause we all were the ones who weren't only the wild child type but also the studious ones which always helped, in getting us the pass, even when we would get caught causing troubles.
Some teachers hated us but we were the one improving the image of their study methods because of our results so they tried hard not to give us any severe punishments.
It was fun troubles though, not something harmful like bullying.
We were the backbenchers, and I don't think I need to explain about that much a lot.
And again no surprise that with such good results we all were eligible for science stream and the luck that i had, to turn out as the only Anamoly in my group.
But I loved commerce. It fascinated me .
The only downpoint was, I had no classes with my friends anymore, which meant I was alone in a class filled with people who already had a group they belonged to and I was the lone wolf.
But but but, one thing you don't know about me yet is that I am an ambivert which means I am extroverted among introverts and introverted among extroverts.
Yeah not the literal meaning but something that I relate to.
So it was time for me to have an identity separate from a group member and hence I took the shot and till the end of the first day of our meet up I was already considered the most outgoing studious and the confident one.
Yet I never told them that it wasn't just me being outgoing it was them being intimidated after having the knowledge that I chose commerce over science.
It might seem quite dramatic,but trust me it was worse than this.
So what happened when I got to have a chance to share a class with my friends again.
I jumped at the opportunity cuz I had also choosen maths and turned out that only one other girl in my class took the same combination, so instead of having a separate class for only two students they decided to teach us together with the students of science stream.
And here it all started....
