No one said anything for the longest time as we looked at the person who had complimented Kate on her looping skills. Where had she been all this time? Why didn't she bother to help Jeff or even my friend? Weren't we all supposed to help each other? All I could do was blink my eyes not quite believing what I was seeing even though she was clearly there. Standing in front of us, alive and healthy was Claudette Morel.
Anger had begun to bubble up inside me the longer I looked at her. Must have been nice to blend in with the some of the areas in the field. Was anyone else just as angry as I was? Slowly, we all separated from the hug we were in to celebrate the country singer's success, just to look at the other so-called leader. In a way, it felt like she abandoned us to our fate. The more I felt outraged because of this woman, the more I felt myself slip. Maybe I should alert Michael to our whereabouts in hope that he'd spot Blendette here, but then, I'd be risking Kate's and Dwight's lives and I just can't do that to them. It didn't mean I couldn't do it when she was separate from everyone else though.
With my dark thoughts taking over, I was thinking of the different ways I could alert the tall handsome killer. To screw over Claudette as she did nothing. As my vision was beginning to be filled with red, my hands clenched at my sides. Before, I'd do anything I may regret, I walked away enough distance where I could still hear but not do any harm to anyone. The balls on that woman though.
"Where have you been Claude? We have all been wondering where you were and whether we were all going to escape together or not." Dwight informed the no-good science girl who cared about her own preservation it seemed then to help those in need. To top it all off, she was the reason we were in this mess to begin with since she led us in the wrong direction. That part may not have been fair due to the thick fog that had appeared out of the blue, but still, how could she not tell the main road to an unknown dirt road?
"I've been roaming around the farmland trying to find a way out of here, but to no avail. We can't go back the way we came for some reason. Then I heard screaming as well. Is everyone okay?" Even from where I was standing, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Did she really care about what happened or was she thinking of her own survival? For some reason I no longer trusted this companion of ours.
"Jeff was hooked twice on a hook, by the killer who you saw chasing Kate around the wooden structure. Feng and I... Well... He didn't make it. Michael Myers killed him." From a near distance, I heard the corn move, and I hid behind the wall of the shack that had been filled with dried blood on the floor. If anyone had noticed that I had moved, they would know they needed to hide if they were smart.
From the distance, I saw the tall man walk around the corn stalks like he was looking for survivors. It seems he was having difficulty finding anyone. Moving as quietly as I could in the shack, I looked through the square opening where a window could have been, searching for the woman. I caught her moving away like she was trying to slink away so the others could get hit instead of her. Squinting my eyes, I vaulted over the window hoping to make as much as noise possible to alert Michael. I followed Claudette from a distance so she wouldn't spot me. If she did, I don't know what she was going to do. It was just better that she didn't detect me at all.
Soon enough, I felt someone's eyes on me like they were pursuing me and that could only mean one thing. I had finally caught the menacing man's attention which can be a good and bad thing. In a way, I enjoyed the thought of it. It gave me a thrill. A form of happiness. What I was doing was very cruel and not very nice, but at the same time, I can't help but feel no remorse. Without looking back, I waved my hand for him to follow me before pointing him in the direction I was leading him to.
Taking a quick look behind me, I saw how close to me he really was. My heart beat wildly in my chest as my eyes widened slightly before going back to normal. I made the typical horror movie mistake, but I was able to correct it quickly by facing forward and running through the corn where I had seen miss. Blendette go through. I knew the man didn't lose me, nor was I really trying to get him to stop following me. I ducked and even had to prevent myself from tripping on rocks as I ran through. I was no where near the house anymore. Instead, it looked like I was closer to the barn where I saw the other girl run into. Knowing he'd be able to catch up to me easily, I jumped through the space where the window should have been.
