Julia

As I woke up to the day light peeking thought the curtains I didn't bother to move or even open my eyes fully.

I had slept like a baby for the first time in months, I suspected that the time was around 12 pm but that didn't matter to me at the moment.

I could hear Vic's steady breathing so she was clearly still asleep.

Wait why does it sound like it's coming from so close?

I carefully opened my eyes to get used to the light. As I lifted my head a little I remembered what had happened last night.

And there I was, laying with her arm around my waist. She was laying on her back so my head had been on the crook of her neck while my right arm was resting on her chest and shoulder.

Should I move?

I turned to look at her face. She looked so beautiful and peaceful when she slept.

A strand of hair had fallen on her face and I felt a sudden urge to move it. Carefully I lifted my hand to reach her face and move the strand to the side. I tried my best to do it as lightly as I could so I wouldn't wake her up.

I want to stay with her.

I gently laid my head back and closed my eyes, hoping that this wouldn't be the only morning that I woke up in her arms.

Vic

It was probably around 12 pm when I woke up. To my surprise I had slept way better than I had in a while.

I didn't need to open my eyes to know that Julia was still laying on my side, her head rested on the base of my neck and her arm on my chest reaching my shoulder.

After a moment I felt her lift her head up. She was awake.

I decided to keep my eyes shut to see what she would do. She stayed still for a few minutes. I could feel her eyes on me as she moved a strand of hair off my face before she apparently decided to lay back down letting out a sigh.

We got up around 2 pm without really saying anything about what had happened. We walked back to my house in silence. Julia was wearing the hoodie that she had borrowed from me yesterday.

"Would you like some scrambled eggs?", I asked as we made it to the kitchen.

She gave me a nod while yawning before she sat down on the kitchen chair.

"So did you sleep well?", Julia asked as I came back from the pantry holding four eggs and some spices.

"Surprisingly yes, did you?"

"I haven't slept so well in months".

Julia

I had just gotten back from taking a shower. Vic had decided to go for a run so I had time by myself.

As I brushed my hair my mind went back to last night.

Was she awake when she turned around?

Did she just hear me cry and hugged me to comfort me?

It wasn't impossible that she just tried to comfort me as she clearly wasn't the best with words. But still I had the hope that she had another reason, something, well, more emotional.

Maybe I'll wake up in her arms tomorrow as well.

Soon enough Vic came back from the run and headed straight to the shower. I could hear her turn the water on through the door.
