Ch-11(promise)

After we came back from school Leticia went to Dad while I went back to my room. In the school play, Leticia was going to play one of the princesses while I was forced to play the figure in the background which I pointed out.

I didn't want to play any character but they said that I had to play one. In the end, I took the background character who had only 1 or 2 lines. I said that she would do it if they accepted a request of mine.

"Leticia is probably discussing with Dad about coming to the play."

Selena smiled thinking about how the sister would convince him to come without making a show. 

*knock* *knock*

Who is it?

Door opened. Jade was sticking his head out.

"Jade?"

"I came to see if you were okay." Jade looked at me and asked quietly.

"I'm fine."

I answered helplessly.

"Then why did you look depressed when Father said about talking you to see the Professor ?"

Jade asked an unexpected question.

I fidgeted with the teddy bear in my hand and chose my words for a moment.

"About that, after what happened when I was still a maid... I just didn't like being alone with anyone I don't know. Leticia said that Dad left for a while when she was solving the puzzles."

Even as I said this, my body was shaking a little. It felt like that bastard's touch from the past came back.

"And it's all?"

"I could go and get a check if he is just outside and... Ah, also I want my old bag back I have a few things in them I need."

My heart kept beating fast but I just smiled at Jade. Jade stroked my hair and left. I quietly put my hand on my head.

{In the living room}

For some reason, Collen hadn't gone anywhere in the morning one day. Jade went to the academy, and Selena took a holiday from school as the others were busy preparing for the play and she already finished her, there were only two of them in the mansion.

"Hey, do you want to go outside to play?"

I turned to him and looked at him like he was ridiculous and said,

"I am Selena dad not Leticia. If you want to take me to the Professor just say it."

"Sigh, yes I want to take you to get tested."

"I will go... But I got two conditions." - Selena said as she made a V with her fingers.

"I know give you back your old bag and not leave you alone with the professor, right?"

Selena smiled, she knew Jade would have told Collen about what she said that night.

"You can leave the room if required but just don't leave the area."

"Ok, Zion bring the bag," Collen ordered Zion to bring back Selena's old bag which was kept somewhere away from her. Zion came back after some time.

"Here, Miss Selena." 

Selena's eyes were sparkling ever since she saw the bag in Zion's hand. She quickly took the bag and ran to her room. She had the biggest smile on her for the first time. Collen turned to Zion who was still standing there and asked,

"My daughter didn't just scam me right?"

"I am not sure duke."

"Sigh, call her we need to leave."

"There is no need for that."

Selena came back smiling brightly and holding her teddy bear that the duke gave her. She was ready to go out. Collen was amazed at how quickly she got ready and was surprised when he saw her smiling and holding the teddy close. Unlike Leticia, Selena didn't smile a lot, and she usually did not carry the teddy with her.

Curious about the change Collen asked Selena, 

"What it the world was in that bag of yours?"

Selena ran to the duke hugged him, and then said,

"That's for me to know and for you to possibly find out Papa."

Collen was dumbfounded and said,

"Papa?"

It took Selena a few seconds to process what she said, her cheeks turned red and she tried to hide her face. She then let out a fake cough and said with her usual nonchalant face,

"Can we leave now?"

The Duke who saw her become red out of embarrassment, couldn't help but chuckle his daughter was too cute.

"Ok lets go, but you have to tell me what was in there,"

Selena turned to the duke and said while smiling,

"I will show you what was there after we come back."

AT {Dr. Siebel's laboratory}

"Is this it? Did Lili also take the test here?"

"Dr. Siebel's laboratory. Yes, she also took the test here."

"Ok then let us go in. You are not allowed to leave"

Selena took the Duke's hand and pulled him in.

"This is a test for you, baby. It'll be over soon."

"But...you won't leave promise me that"- Selena had a face that looked like she would cry at any moment if the Duke didn't promise.

"OK, I promise I won't leave. but I will stand outside if I am told ok.

"ok"

After Collen promised they finally came in.

"Welcome, lady. Come this way."

His name was 'Doctor', but the person who greeted me was not a doctor. A man with glasses greeted me. It was impossible to guess how old he was. He was wearing a white robe.

"Is this the lady you were talking about?"

"Oh yeah. Be gentle. If you disrespect my daughter in the slightest, you'll be in big trouble. And I'll be away for a minute, but the guards will be standing outside."

Dr. Siebel's face went white. He nodded his head.

"I will take care of it."

"Where are you going? You promised."

I quickly grabbed the hem of Collen's clothes. Collen leaned over and looked into my eyes.

"Would you like to talk to this person for a minute? I'll be right back."

"But ..."

"It's okay. I'll be back soon."

'Lier, this is exactly why I don't like making promises'- Selena thought.

she was angry that he broke the first promise she had made a while ago and reluctantly let go of Collen's hem. Collen walked out and a man named Siebel sat down in a chair.
