It was not a normal day for Sel and Lee. Their mother who had been suffering from an illness for quite some time had died today. And Sel who was with her had witnessed her last moments.
Their mother had only one wish

"I am sorry I couldn't keep my promise but Please promise me that you will stay with Lee and be happy sweetheart."

"But you pro-prom-ised you won't leave."

"Promise me, sweetheart"

"I promise Mom. You also have to be happy"

Sel replied while tears streamed down her face. Sel who was the older twin had almost lost her mind after the only adult in her life had died. But Lee's existence helped her not give up on her life.

Sel turned to her side and comforted her sister who was crying her lungs out. Sel had only one thought in her mind,

'It's just us now.'

After calming down her sister Sel asks Lee to go ask people for help to bury their dead mother and she does the same. This was more of giving each other some time alone to let their emotions out fully. But Lee seemed to take it literally and went away.

Sel went near a tree and sat at It's shade while sobbing softly. Someone had approached her at that time and asked in a sweet voice,

"Is something wrong kid?"

Sel raised her head and tried to look at the man through her teary vision but couldn't see properly all she saw was that that man had white hair.
Sel's institute was warning her that this man in front of her was dangerous. So she quickly got up and said that everything was okay in a shaky voice and ran away from that man.

"T-thank y-you fo-for ask-ing, but everything is OK sir."

As she was running she bumped into another man and fell.
Sel immediately apologized.

"I am extremely sorry for bumping into you, sir pleaseforgiveme."
"It's okay, stand up."

The man extended his hand toward Sel who was still on the ground after bumping. Sel took his hand and tried to stand up but suddenly felt dizzy as different memories flew into her head.
Sel put her hands on her head to calm the dizziness. She looked up at the person who helped her and thanked him. Then she slowly started to leave stumbling with a hand or her head.

After a while the memories subsided, and she started mumbling in whispers.

"I am in 'How to be a Dark Hero's Daughter' as a character that didn't exist "

(How to be a dark hero's daughter) it was a story that Sel stumbled upon while reading other stories and became crazy about its characters. She read the manhwa and also tried to read the novel but couldn't complete it.
As Sel was thinking about the characters in detail Lee interrupted her thought process.

"Sister they said they will bury Mom now, so they asked to call you."

Sel who was preoccupied with her thoughts on how she was inside a story remembered that her mother who raised her here died. Sel felt as if a heavy stone was put in her heart, she realized that the Lee in front of her was still a child who lost her pmother. She held Lee's hand and said,

"Let's go, Lee."

As they walked towards the burial ground Sel thought of how to survive.

'Lee got adopted by the Duke when she was nine years old, we have to survive till then. I don't know if he will also adopt me but first I have to find a way to earn money.'
