Twenty four streets away

Chapter one

"Please just ask him for me please" I whine pushing Chris towards Jake.

"Okay okay fine I'm going" Chris chuckles and takes a phew steps closer to Jake.

"Hey Jake um, I was just wondering if Lauren could come to that movie with us on the weekend" He asks Jake fiddling with both his hands nervously behind his back.

"Oh yeah sure I don't mind, Lauren your pretty cool anyway" Jake replies giving a reassuring nod and then walks off over to his other friends.

I smile at what he had said.

"Thank you so much Chris, I owe you" I pull him into a friendly hug.

"No worries, just remember not to be somebody your not and if things don't work out and he doesn't like you, your just not meant to be with him" He wraps his arms around me as I had done to him.

"Thanks again" I smile and walk over to my best friend Ashley who was sitting all by herself on a couch in the corner of the lounge room.

"Hey Lauren" She gestures me to sit next to her.

I sit down and we talk over what just happened and what I should wear. Jake passed us a few times leaving a smile each time our eyes met. Jake had light brown eyes along with tanned skin, chocolate brown hair and a very fit body. Almost every single girl I know of likes him. I may not have a very high chance of him liking me back but all well I can't change my feelings.
