The next day which was Tuesday didn't go so well since we attended a late party the previous night. The bus arrived late which led to me being late for school, although my teacher let us bus riders out because it wasn't our fault, we all couldn't have walked because it was pouring down rain all day and there was strong winds. The school rules are if you commit catch the bus each morning you can't walk or get your parents to drive you.
Ashley and I who both caught the bus arrived at school just before first break began so we ran to dump our belongings into our lockers, informed the office why we were late, and then sat ourselves down under the oak tree in the middle of our large sports field and grassland.
"Ugh I missed my english and science classes what about you? " Ashley grunts while taking a huge bite into her salami sandwich.
"Oh no I missed maths and music! Today we were supposed to be choosing our partners for our upcoming assignment, I have to go sorry Ashley but I really want to go with Chris for a number of reasons talk or text you later bye" I immediately stand up and wave goodbye to Ashley who was still processing what I had just said.
"Bye, I guess" She says, me almost not being able to hear her.
I felt bad for leaving Ashely by herself but I needed to work with Chris on this project so we could discuss things about Jake, besides we always work on music projects together.
"Chris? " I start searching around the library where he would usually be writing songs or strutting his guitar.
"Chri- " I begin saying but am cut off by somebody.
"Library voices please" Mrs Silver one of the schools librarians, whispers in a serious tone.
She seems angry gee wiz
"Sorry Mrs Silver" I whisper back.
"Chris?, Chris? " I continue in a much softer voice.
I spot a black haired boy sitting at the end of the schools large library.
There he is
"Chris! there you are" I run over to him on my tippy toes.
"Hey Lauren I was just about to come ask you something, you tell me what you wanted to tell me first though, I believe the bus was quite a late this morning" He half smiles and unwraps his guitar strap, along with his acoustic guitar off of him and places it on top of the beanbag beside him.
"Yes it was actually. Anyway listen, the thing I wanted to ask you about was if you had a partner for our music assignment yet, do you? " I ask and sit down on the beanbag that was across from him.
"No I don't but funny thing, I came to ask you about the same thing" He laughs.
"Oh, well would you like to go with me? We can work on it next Sunday if you want to, at my house since we did the last one together at your house"
"Sounds great"

During fourth period in science class Jake Chris and I were all sitting in the back row.
I stare at Jake and find myself lost in his light brown eyes before being brought back to what felt like planet earth from Jake planet by the teacher calling my name. Everyone looks at me and I feel my cheeks turn a bright red colour in embarrassment. I am asked to move to the front row so I don't keep continuously getting distracted or loose concentration again. I am commanded to sit next to two bullies who hated me and both had crushes on Jake.
"Jakes never going to like you" Sophia who was on my right sarcastically laughs.
Wow that was quick I just sat down
"If it makes you feel nice saying things like that to me go ahead Sophia" I sigh.
"It does" She pouts and fake sobs.
Spoilt rich and rude she is
"So when are you planning on fixing those black eyebrows that match your sickening brown eyes" Mackenzie who was on the left hand side of me spat.
When are you planning to be nice
I don't say anything, besides I can't blame them for who they are. I just don't pay attention to haters.
The bell rings and I feel a wave of luck pass over me.
Thank you bell

At second break Ashley and I decide to play soccer with all the boys.
"We are literally the only girls playing yet alone the only girls on the soccer field" Ashley looks around.
"All well" I shrug.
The soccer game begins and the boys go wild. In the corner of my eye I see somebody tackle Chris to the ground.
Haha he's a little wimp
I start running towards my teams goal. Aidan kicks the ball along the ground slowly while the opposite team circles him. He passes the ball to Oliver and he passes it over to Ben, he passes it to me. I steadily and carefully kick the ball over towards the goal and then run after it. Joseph, who was on the other team attempted to retrieve the ball from my feet but fails as I change directions that nobody probably saw coming from a girl who didn't even play soccer as a weekend sport. I begin to run faster and aim for the goal. The ball bounces off the side of my converse and go's for the goal boundary. It hits the net and the goalkeeper goes flying and misses.
Go me!
"YEAH LAUREN! " I hear Ashley scream from behind me.
"GOOD JOB LAUREN" Ben shouts.
"THATS THE SPIRIT" Olivier jumps and punches mid air as if he'd just won a whole lot of money.
"That was a good kick" Jake jogs past me back to his position and charmingly smiles.
"Thanks" I grin.
Everyone runs back to their sides and Jake puts the ball down in the centre of the field. He then attempts making a whistle sound which I thought was adorable because he started laughing at himself afterwards. Aidan tackles three people at once which ends up practically ripping some grass out of the ground. The ball is kicked out of the side line and Ben is made to throw it back in. Someone from the opposite team retrieves the ball and starts sprinting to the goal. Before he can score Jake runs in front of him out of no where and starts kicking the ball our way again, Jake passes it to Oliver but I didn't know what happened then because I was too busy looking at Jake. It was as if my whole world just stopped and transformed to slow motion. He flicks his head sideways making his hair fall back into place, he then looks down at his white top and mustard coloured pants that were both still surprisingly clean. His eyes met mine and he smiled nodding his head. I smiled back but soon looked away since I got nervous.
I wish I had more confidence I really do
