Barbie and Oppenheimer were neighbors. They weren't very close, but that would all change, very quickly.

Barbie flew down from her palace of a pink bedroom as Oppenheimer sat on his front porch, smoking a cigar and contemplating life. "Robbie!" Oppenheimer- or; 'Robbie' as barbie called him- looked up to a beautiful, blonde woman wearing a lemonade pink plaid dress with a powder white, ball gown-looking petticoat underneath.

Oppenheimer blushed, he never would've admitted it, but he had a tiny crush on her. Or a really big one. "Hello Barbara." She giggled. "Nobody calls me Barbara except for you!"

He slightly smiled, she was one of the only things that made her smile. (Spoiler alert: it was the only thing.) "And you're the only one who calls me 'Robbie'." Barbie smiled back. She couldn't admit this to herself, but he made her feel something that Ken didn't.

"Robbie, how about you join me and Ken at the beach with all our other friends?" Barbie was hoping he'd say yes, even though every day she tried to invite him, and he always declined. He only declined because he didn't feel like being around other people. At all. Except for her. One thing he liked about her, is that she kept on asking no matter how many times she said no.

"Barbara, how come you keep on asking even though i say no every-time?" Barbie nodded and looked down, waiting for something.  to come to her. "Because...I want you to come." She smiled, but not like any of her other smiles. This one was genuine, one she couldn't hold back, even if she bit her lip hard enough to make it bleed. He really did make her feel something that no one else could...especially not Ken. And that made her guilty. Really guilty.

Barbie waved goodbye and Oppenheimer finished his cigar.

Barbie arrived at the beach to a Ken holding a surfboard and the rest of her friends, which was basically everyone and Barbie Land. When Barbie arrived, everyone waved and said their signature lines; "Hey Barbie!" "Hi Barbie!" "Hello Barbie!" All her friends yelled at her enthusiastically.

Suddenly, they all gasped and looked behind her...

"Barbie it's..." Barbie turned around to see her good friend standing there. "Robbie! You came!" She ran up to him and threw her arms around his neck, embracing him in a tight hug. Oppenheimer awkwardly put his hands around her waist and pulled himself into the hug, smiling as he rested his chin on the top of her back, bending down while doing so.

"Barbie!" Ken yelled. "Who is this..?!" Ken was undeniably jealous. He had never seen Barbie look at him this way, or anyone in Barbie Land for that matter. Ken scoffed and rolled his eyes "It's Robb- I mean, sorry...Mr Oppenheimer.. My next door neighbor." Ken faked a smile. "Of course Barbie! I remember him." Barbie smiled, she was oblivious. Oppenheimer put his hand on Barbie's shoulder, protectively.

Ken grumbled, deep in his throat, jealous. Barbie waved her hand off Oppenheimer and whispered to him, "Not here..." Oppenheimer put his hand back to his side and sighed. He blinked at the rest of the Barbies and Kens, obviously not welcome here. "Well..." Barbie sighed.

Allan raised his hand. "So, what do we do now?" Midge looked over at him. "What do you mean?" Midge furrowed her brows. "No, for once Allan is right." Ken crossed his arms tightly. Allan stood beside Ken. President Barbie chimed in. "So you guys are excluding him because he's not one of us?" Physicist Barbie retorted. "That's exactly what we're saying! He's wearing a suit to a beach!" The fight went on and on, other Barbies and Kens joining in until there was two clear sides.

"Everyone- stop!" Barbie shut her eyes tight and yelled, stomping her sculpted foot onto the sandy ground. "We should be accepting of him! Just because he's not a Ken...doesn't mean that we shouldn't be nice to him! This is the opposite of what we stand for, and if you don't remember what that is, then maybe you shouldn't be here." Barbie crossed her arms and shifted her weight, her left hip popping up. Oppenheimer lowered his head.

Everyone nodded. "You're so right for that Barbie. I am so sorry." "Thank you Ke-" Oppenheimer nodded his head before being interrupted. "To Barbie. Not...whatever your name was." Barbie sighed and shook her head. "Alright, how about we all just go home." President Barbie spoke. Therapist Barbie nodded and spoke up. "Yes. It'll give us all time to think about what happened today." Ken nodded "I agree absolutely. I'll even help Barb-" "No, Ken. We all  need to be alone." Ken rolled his eyes. "Whatever."

"I'll take Barbie home, since we are neighbors." Oppenheimer tipped his hat. "No way!" Ken retorted. Activist Barbie spoke up. "Ken, it would be good for the environment to carpool, and me and doctor Barbie think it would be better on her feet." Doctor Barbie looked confused for a moment before getting the hint and giving a wink and a thumbs-up to Oppenheimer who just blushed.

"So, i guess its settled then! Lets all go home." Barbie looked up at Oppenheimer and flashed her Oscar worthy smile. Oppenheimer nervously and awkwardly coughed. "Y-yes of course." He stuttered, and he awkwardly took Barbies hand, walking her to his car.

He opened the door and she got inside. He went around the front and got inside the drivers seat. "So.." Barbie awkwardly looked out the window. "Mhm." Oppenheimer mumbled nervously. "Um, crazy thing that happened, didn't it?" Barbie laughed slightly. "Yes, i suppose so." Oppenheimer smiled while turning on his 1929 Chrysler Convertible Coupe.

Once they got there, Barbie and Oppenheimer stepped out onto the driveway. Barbie walked over to her lawn before Oppenheimer stopped her. She turned around to see him facing her, his head turned down, looking into her perfect blue eyes. "I...i'm not sure what i was going to say." Oppenheimer laughed a little. Barbie giggled and flashed her perfect smile,  kissed him on the cheek and ran off into her house, not before waving to him, with a red face. He brought his hand up to his cheek, stunned.

"Wow."
