*hides face in shame*

YES, it's been a minute but these chapters are LONG and school is killing me guys! I'm being as consistent as I can.

Bare with but also drop your insta handles :D Let's connect.  Here's a glimpse of my page where I troll my characters, give them visuals, make them mood-boards etc. I'd love for us to engage with each other!

I'm also starting a book club for this book later in September. We can meet online and discuss different things, different chapters etc. I aim to be halfway through this book by month end so we'll be good to go then. If you'd like me to send you the link to me book club in the meantime, just drop your email here~

Other than that, happy reading - oh! And to all my silent readers I appreciate you, I really do! You don't have to say anything but now and then leave a reaction or an emoji. I swear your comments are what gets my mind flowing. Guilt trip me sometimes, that works!

I had been trying my best to keep my mind off of Ledger all day – and in some ways, it was working.

Luckily for both of us, he had to head into the office and stayed there, so I didn't have to see him, and vice versa. I imagined that Adrienne would be there as well, and all of my yearning would just turn right back into anger.

Onyx also had to attend to something, and they almost at the same time. All in all, I had a quiet, uneventful day. Just filled with my mother ignoring me and a little nervousness for the dinner Onyx and I were supposed to share tonight.

When everyone called it quits for the night, I went to my room and took a shower. I needed to do something with my hair, perhaps getting it braided, because constantly styling it was becoming a chore. I chose something casual; there was no need to dress up just to sit in the dining room. A nice top and a pair of jeans always do the trick.

Eve pushed her way through, still damp from the shower, and paused as she shut the door behind her.

"Onyx?"

I placed both hands on my hips and nodded. She raised an eyebrow and sauntered in.

"I assume you've moved on from Ledger already?"

"What? Of course not, it's only been three days," I said as I plopped onto the bed, placing the pillow on my lap. "I'm just having fun as it comes. Onyx will only be here for a week, but I actually enjoyed his company this morning."

"Hmm," she hummed skeptically, flipping her red hair off her shoulder. "So, he's not some tattooed maniac, then?"

"I wouldn't say that based on my experience," I chuckled. "No."

"Still, Sairose, be careful. There's something about him that I can't quite pinpoint."

"I said the same thing to myself this morning, but for some reason, my intuition isn't going off... He seems like a genuine person."
