The Trip

Chapter 2

John  was still leading Liel to the lab without her knowing about it, however Liel had this gut feeling that something bad was going to happen.

"We have to stop him!" Rosie called out to Matt, after John and Liel got far enough so they wouldn't hear them, whisper-yelling. "How?! They already went towards the side of the building!" He called back, also whisper-yelling. They both got out of the bushes and started to plan out what to do to get Liel back.

They followed them, going to the side of the building and see John and Liel, they hid around the corner, peeking, trying to listen in on what John is saying.

"Y'know, I'm not going to try and save you, I'm going to take you someplace 'special.' Somewhere nobody can find you." John said, "W-what? What do you mean where nobody can find me?" Liel said scared, she had an idea though.

"We have to stop him somehow, maybe call the police?" Rosie said whispering to Matt. "Do we have a signal here? I mean, we're surrounded by forest." Matt responded whispering.

"We don't need a signal because 911 is the emergency number. Anywhere we go, signal or not, in a different state, we'll reach the closest police station and we'll be in contact with a 911 operator!" Rosie replied back whispering.

"Good thinking" Matt said. Matt pulled out his phone and dialed 911. A 911 operator answered. They sounded like a female.

"911 what's your emergency?" The female operator said. "Um, yes, our friend just got kidnapped by a stranger, we heard his name was John..." Matt was trying to find the right words to say to the operator.

"Okay, and what's your location?" Matt lowered the phone and asked Rosie the address. She told him and then told the operator on the phone with them. "You know that place is abandoned, right? What are you two kids doing there?" Matt tried to think of a good way to explain, "W-we were going to explore it as for a little fun, then when my friend, not the one who got kidnapped, told us she heard something so we scattered out in the bushes, that's when the guy, supposedly John, saw where out friend was and took her away."

"Okay sir, we'll send a few police officers your way. Hang on tight" the operator told him. "Please hurry!"

Three police vehicles finally arrived in about 10 mins, Matt and Rosie were standing out in front of the building waiting for them.

They both came up to them as three police officers came out of each car. "Thank goodness you're here! We were getting worried." Matt said, a little determined to save his friend.

"Yeah, we need to move fast. They're already inside the building, and who knows what that creepy John guy could be doing with our friend!" Rosie said as she led them to a side entrance to the building.

Matt, Rosie, and the three cops entered the building through the rusted side door. "It's dark..." Matt said under his breath, pulling out his flashlight and clicking it on, Rosie did the same. They were going down a dark hallway when they heard voices of what sounded like their friend and John. They turned off their flashlights and listened

"Well, I knew you'd make a fine experiment!" John said, chuckling. "W-what? Experiment?" Liel said scared and confused.

The 5 of them peaked around the corner, and saw them, they'd been standing there for a while it seemed like. They turned back around the corner and conjured up a plan.

"Got any ideas?" Matt whispered. "We could... go back down the hallway and pretend we're looking for Liel while waving our flashlights around while the police officers are behind us? And they don't know?" Rosie replied back, also whispering.

"Good plan." Matt whispered, the three officers agreeing as well. They all went back down the hallway silently, Rosie and Matt went towards the side door to open and close it loudly, pretending to look for their friend.
