5,000 Years after the events of the Dragonet Prophecy. . .
Wind howled in the IceWing's ears, yanking ferociously on his wings as he flew into the eye of the storm. Rain pummelled down onto his spine, slipping off his smooth, grey scales and into the dark, murky ocean below. Hoarfrost clutched the egg closer to his chest, his wings beating harder in an attempt to reach the cave before the storm worsened. A tremendous burst of light ripped through the sky, blindingly illuminating Jasper Mountain. Hoarfrost narrowed his eyes, drawing his wings closer to his body as he twisted into a dive, plummeting towards the ocean surface.
~ Two days prior. . . ~
Hoarfrost and Funnel had landed on the sand, grains crunching underneath their heavy talons. This specific spot wasn't too far from the border of the Ice Kingdom, if Hoarfrost had to guess, as the tundra was creeping into the desert from the sides.
"Which one are we looking for?" Funnel had asked cheerfully, lifting a talon to his eyes to shield his face from the blinding sun above, which was setting as they spoke.
Hoarfrost had began walking further into the dunes, kicking up sand and dust with every step. "The SandWing egg," he responded coldly, his tongue flicking out of his mouth in a serpentine-like manner. The IceWing dug his claws into the sand, desperate to find any sort of cold relief from the uncomfortable heat that the desert possessed. Funnel had chuckled, his barbed tail swaying playfully as he moved in front of the large IceWing guardian.
"C'mon," He had stated, tilting his head at Hoarfrost with a charming grin. "Loosen up a little. We'll find the egg. But you don't have to be such a grumpy ol' vulture about it." He dug his back foot into the dune, flicking it upwards in a quick motion. A fair pile of sand flew onto Hoarfrost's legs, causing the IceWing to hiss in displeasure.
"Quit trying to make a game out of this," Hoarfrost snapped, harsher than he had intended. "We're here to find an egg, stop stalling and help me look for it if you're as useful as you claim." Funnel had frowned, rolling his eyes and beginning to dig into the dunes. As he dug into the sandy heaps, piles upon piles of sand flicked up onto the IceWing's snout, leading a chilly wind to trail from Hoarfrost's jaws in irritation.
"FOR MOON'S SAKE, PULL YOUR TALONS OUT OF THE DUNES, QUIT BEING AS STUPID AS A NEWLY-HATCHED DRAGONET AND FLY BACK TO THE CAVE ALREADY," The IceWing snarled, an icy blue glowing in the back of his throat. Funnel twisted around abruptly, an expression of mixed hurt and anger displayed across his face.
"I'm trying to help!" He cried, extending his wings in disbelief. "Maybe if you weren't as irritable as a crocodile, than we'd actually have a chance of finding this moons-forsaken egg!" Hoarfrost growled, taking a menacing step forward towards the SandWing. Something stopped him, resting against his front talon. As he looked down, Hoarfrost was quick to realise what it was. A pale yellow egg sat still in the sand, with small grey spines adorning the exterior of the shell. Funnel sat up, creeping closer to the object.
"Is that it?" He asked, his claw brushing over the shell lightly. The SandWing picked it up carefully, the egg resting neatly in the palm of his cupped hands.
"Suppose it is," Hoarfrost replied, his face relaxing at the relieving sight of the located fifth egg.

Hoarfrost extended his wings right before he crashed into the ocean, abruptly lifting him slightly higher than the water's surface. His reflection gazed back up at him, eyesight occasionally flicking to the unusual-looking egg resting in his tight grasp. Funnel's reflected gaze met Hoarfrost's, giving the IceWing a small, relieved smile before returning his head to the horizon.
"Tidal will be really happy," Funnel said, breaking the silence. Both dragons were gliding across the ocean, with Jasper Mountain within eyesight. The rain had eased, but the clouds were still a deep grey, suggesting that heavy precipitation was still an expected outcome for the night.
"She's been talking about the finding all the eggs since forever. She'd be really happy to know that we've finally got them all; and now the prophecy might actually have a chance of coming true." The SandWing guardian let out a soft chuckle, scratching his neck before returning his gaze to the nearing mountain. Hoarfrost looked down towards the egg once more, admiring it's odd spikes and grey gradients.
Wow. He thought, giving the egg a soft smile as they ascended into the sky, preparing to dive into the cave opening. It's finally happening.
Now, the war might actually come to an end.
You hear that, little dragon?
You're going to save the world.
