Hours later, the party they had planned was about to start whilst Mrs.Newell totally forgot about her birthday date. She only noticed everyone in the house was coming out dressed up like they're celebrating something she doesn't know about.

"Why are you all dressed up? I saw Mariah, Luna and now you." She said. Saying to Delilah who came to call the kids to come from the sitting room they were seated with her watching the tv. Delilah smiled at her "we are going somewhere with the kids." She gave her a suspicious look turned away and continued watching the tv show she was watching.

Delilah told the kids to go meet Luna upstairs and she headed to the kitchen to see if everything is all ready and decorators are done with the backyard. Opening the kitchen door she saw Jenna decorating a beautiful birthday cake colored blue "Wow cake boss this is so beautiful and I can't just wait to taste it" she said excitedly. "I go check what going on outside, I'll be right back. Delilah said to Jenna.

"Delilah where's mum?" Jenna asked. "Busy with her tv show as usual." Delilah said exiting the kitchen back door.
Jenna smiled and asked Tito and the other maids to start taking the food and small chops to the backyard if the decorators are done.

Jenna finished and left the kitchen to go get dressed. Delilah was so excited that she had to go back to the mirror in her room to look at her self again dressed in a beautiful green one shoulder cut out gown and classy ponytail hair style. Three of Mrs.Newell's friends were seated in the backyard chatting waiting for the party to start with few of their neighbors too.

Everyone were all gathered and everything all set at the backyard waiting for the party to start. Alex was with the kids and they were all excited chatting with him. Delilah asked if everyone was ready and they all said yes. "Now I'll go get the celebrant"
Getting to the sitting room she found Mrs.Newell far asleep while the tv was on. She touched her hand gently.
  "Mum!" "Mum!!" "Mum!!!"
She opened her eyes. "Ouch Delilah I'm so tired what's the problem?"

"Mum please come help me out with something outside the car is not starting and we're late." Delilah said with a pitiful face.
"Ask Aiden to help you I'm going upstairs to continue my sleep, where's everyone?" She stood up and started for the door to the stairs.

"Mum please I can't find Aiden and Dad, seems they've gone out." Delilah said ignoring her question on everyone's whereabout.

"Okay Delilah since you ruined my sleep already let's go."

They went out through the entrance door. Nancy came running "Grandma!" "Grandma!" Delilah was surprised to see Nancy.

"What is the problem Nancy?" Delilah asked looking at the little girl surprisingly.

"Uncle Alex said I should call you to come with grandma to the backyard, he said it's urgent."

"Delilah is anything the problem?" Mrs.Newell asked looking at her suspiciously. "I don't really know but let's go mum."
They started for the backyard. "Oooh Goodness please don't let Nancy ruin the surprise kept ringing on her Delilah's mind. And Nancy only kept on smiling until they got there.

Mrs.Newell was surprised to see them all. They all shouted "Happy Birthday Mrs.Newell!!"
"Oooh! Goodness I totally forgot my birthday. Wow who's behind this? She asked walking toward Mr.Newell her smiling with teary voice. "Thank you! Thank you! Everyone"
"Happy 50th birthday my love" Mr.Newell said while hugging her.

"So you knew about this and didn't tell me." She said staring at her husband.

"Yes because it's a surprise and Aiden made this happen with the help of us all here." Mr.Newell said.

Delilah walked to Alex and smiled "thank you because I didn't know what to do next when we got outside and I was so scared Nancy could have said something when she came but she didn't."

"Yes she's a wise girl, I told her not to say anything apart from what I had told her to say and she did just that."

Mrs.Newell was so happy to see her friends too. She then excused herself to go change what she was wearing. The party had started, with lively and pumping music with so much food and drinks everyone was having fun.

Jenna's heart warred between wanting to be near Alex and needing to never be near him again. She decided she wouldn't worry: Delilah would occupy Alex.

He would probably ask her to dance once or twice, just for courtesy's sake, but that will be all. And perhaps that would make Wren extra attentive to her, considering his slightly jealous attitude when he'd found them together in the kitchen.

She reached the table, pushed apart two napkins-covered baskets to make place for the chocolate tray, and set it down. Probably she had imagined what she'd seen in Alex's eyes during the early morning—they both had been excited about how they felt at that moment. Yes probably it was all in her imagination.

The place looked so beautiful, everyone was enjoying the party, the kids most especially were so excited. Restlessly Jenna turned to search for Wren. Two or three couples were begging to dance to the lively music playing. Maybe she and Wren could dance the whole evening together. Maybe, slow persistent sweet melodies that always filled her with unnamed, piercing longings and she and Wren would wrap their arms around each other and feel each other's body warm and close. Maybe—if they were dancing— they would kiss.
Especially since he had put his arms around her in front of the whole world that morning. She smiled to herself. Maybe Alexander Hudson's coming to Seattle would jolt Wren out of his obsession with his work and set his attention on her!

She saw him then, tall broad-shouldered and lean, standing a short distance from Anty Maria, talking to Aiden. They were so deep is discussion that Wren was aware of nothing else.

A doting smile touched her lips. He lived and breathed his work, not only because he was determined to be rewarded with a position of chief lab technician at the wine company he work with, but because in the seven months he had worked hard to love his job more and she did too. Her spirit calmed at the thought. She and Wren were perfect for each other, they really were.

Wren loved her and would be happy living here forever, safe in the bosom of her family where she wanted to stay. He had said over and over that he doesn't want his daughter, Alina to grow up without someone to look after her as a mother.

Suddenly she stood there watching Wren Oliver, the man she has promised to marry.
