Chapter 23: Battle of Forsaken Fortress

Forsaken Fortress, Great Sea
Ayanami POV

I was saved by the Flame Dragon at the Fire Temple and he's attacking the fortress which give me time to rescue Ghostwolf which I blast the door with my turret which he was shock to see it.

Ghostwolf(shock): "YOUR A SHIPGIRL?"

I nod which Ghostwolf start to calm down, but shock at the same time; however right now isn't the time to be worry about something like and we need to escape, but Ghostwolf stop me.

Ghostwolf: "We need to recover the Flames."

He explain to me that the boss of the pirates has her hands on the Flames at her quarter at the top of the fortress. We decide to head up there and recover the Flames before the entire fortress goes down to the bottom of the ocean. We rush upstairs while there is a battle going on outside with the Flame Dragon. We manage to reach up the tower of the prison and notice the Flame Dragon burning the fortress while have spotlights aim at it with cannons firing at it including some of the pirates using arrows to fight it. While the dragon is dealing with pirates; we head inside of the boss quarter and claim back the Flames. We have arrive inside of the quarter and see the boss of the pirates sitting on her throne chair with three Flames beside her.

???: "Looks like this is going to be my final battle here."

Ghostwolf: "Enough Rachel. Hand us the Flames and we let you leave."

 Rachel(laughing): "And miss my golden opportunity of a life time. Not a chance."

She start to wield double blades of swords which I grab my sword, but I have a hard time of holding it because the fight against the Darknut which this Rachel girl start to laugh at me.

Rachel(laugh): "I know that you're coming here so I summon a Darknut to weaken you. I deal with you later Ghostwolf, but that girl is mine."

I was about to fight, but Ghostwolf stop me from fighting.

Ghostwolf: "You need to rest Ayanami; I can deal with her."

Both of us are confuse of what's going on, but Ghostwolf is going to fight Rachel with a sword that he has on him which I didn't saw him wield it during our adventure.

Ghostwolf: "I always has it just in case something like this happen, but first."

He close his eyes and his wolf feature is changing color into white and glowing, but I notice that he has a Triforce mark on his forehead which he will explain to me later after we escape, but Rachel was also shock, but was amaze by his appearance.

Rachel(shock): "You're Fenrir; the White Wolfo."

Fenrir?: "Correct; Ghostwolf is just a fake name for me to enjoy my life in this world created by the gods and also protector of the Triforce of Courage."

I remember that he say that Triforce of Courage was scattered after the Hero of Time disappear without a trace, but how did he know about it unless.

Fenrir?: "Yes; I was alive right before the Great Flood and my job is to protect the Triforce of Courage until a new hero arrive against the Great Evil. I was named Fenrir the White Wolfo that travel with the Hero of Time."

Ayanami(shock): "Is that the reason you can speak to the guardians?"

He nod because he was assign by the gods to protect the Triforce of Courage at all cost and was able to speak their language which is Hylian. If that is the case then he's over 100 years old right now, but he look so young for been so old. Rachel charge right at Ghostwolf or Fenrir, but he was able to deflect her attack with ease.

Rachel(angry): "If that was the case then why you didn't show your true color during your time with us?"

Fenrir: "Because I have a job to do and I don't want the Great Evil finding out of my existence."

She continue her attack against Fenrir, but he easily deflect her attack right back at her which isn't a surprise since he has more experience with combat then her if he was assign by the gods. The fight continues on with one side victory with Fenrir the victor, but Rachel is getting angry that she can't win against him.

Fenrir: "Give up Rachel; you can't win this fight."

She is struggling against Fenrir and decide to give up after dropping her sword.

Rachel(upset): "WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? After all the things we did together and this is the way you treat me."

Fenrir: "You know that my true purpose is always following the will of the gods. As long my service is require by the gods; there is no way that my life will be joined by the mortals. Even with my race was wipe out at the end; I continue to serve the gods and the Royal Family of Hyrule."

Wait; did he say that his own people was wipe out during the Great Flood. That sad to hear that your the only survivor of your own people and have to live 100 years to serve the gods. I grab the Flames and put them in the special containers for them before heading out and escape from the chaos that is going on outside. Fenrir return to his normal self without the Triforce mark on his body and heading out, but was stop by Rachel.

Rachel: "What would you do after finding that Ghost Ship?"

Ghostwolf: "Continue finding treasures and explore the world."

Rachel: "Are you going to be lonely?"

Ghostwolf: "I was always alone for 100 years."

We both walk away and escaping from the fortress.
