He was running to the science department as though he had missed an exam.

It wasn't the case; he was searching for Jazz.

He was really mad at her for some reason. When he spotted a familiar yellow backpack, he yanked it out of the crowd.
The slouch greeted him with a nihilistic smile, maddening him even more.

Kade: What did you gain from telling Giselle that?

Jazz: Inner peace and a couple of laughs.

Kade: You think this is funny? She threw a fit. That convo wasn't meant to leave our chat. Why did you tell her?

Jazz: *chuckles* I felt she deserved to know who she was dealing with.

Kade: I'd ignore the fact that you're referring to me as a two-timer. You want to ruin our friendship, that's what.

Jazz: What's left to ruin? Bruh, we both know it ended the day you decided to go on a date with her shortly after confessing to me.
I obviously didn't take you seriously, but it weighed on me that my friend was dating a player. To think I saw you as a friend.

Kade moved closer, and she stepped back.

Kade: My feelings are true, even if you can't accept it. I also like her, so I went out with her. I would've done the same with you if you'd let me. But that's in the past now. You've lost your chance with me and foiled mine with Giselle. Are you happy now? You got what you wanted.

Jazz: The hell is this? Some dramrom?*chuckles* What's true is the feeling down there. That heart beats for no one.
You're selfish, and you don't realise the cr*p you just said. How can you want two girls and be real about it? I agree with you on this one - it's in the past. Giselle probably hates me now, but she'd thank me soon enough. And I'm happy that there were no casualties.

Her smile widens even more.

Other classrooms were empty, Kade and Jazz were still in one.

Kade: You wanted me to hate you. That's why you did all this.

Jazz: Maybe you're right. Maybe you're wrong. Maybe I needed a valid reason for our friendship to end. "The second and final time we cut each other off would not be 'cause of 'having nothing in common' , but 'cause 'you detest me'". This I told myself. We couldn't even remain friends for long. It's better this way.

Kade loses his shit and sadisticly cackles at her.

Kade: Damn, you're crazy. Does Giselle know this part of you? Bet you couldn't care if she did.

Jazz: Call me crazy all you want. My logic isn't easily understood. I'd care, she's my friend.

Kade: So you never considered me a friend, huh?

He holds her chin up and leans in. She's unfazed.

Kade: What a character. Most girls would redden and shiver at my touch. You just stand there, unbothered. It annoys me that I can't get to you, yet it excites me all the same.

Jazz swats his wandering fingers off.

Jazz: You're one to call me crazy. Mitts off. I don't know what I saw in you when I befriended you. You're just like the others.

Kade: Who else? You don't have many female friends, just Gis. You don't have many guy friends 'cause of that logic of yours. You'll end up alone if it continues.

Jazz: Let it be. I don't need such drama. Also, don't call her Gis. It sounds weird coming from you.

Kade: It's getting late. Let's go, I'll take you home.

Jazz: No, thank you.

She heads towards the door, and the lights go out. She attempts to use her phone light, but her battery died.

Jazz: Ah shart. Just perfect timing. Can you turn on your flashli- mmph!

Kade slammed his face on hers and kissed her. She struggled from his grip, but her defences weakened. He slid his tongue in her mouth, and that's when she escaped, hyperventilating.

Kade: You needed this. That was your first, wasn't it?

Jade: It wasn't. Let go of me.

He could feel her fluster in the dark. He held her and leaned in for another, and then the lights came on.
