Alexis Forgot Something

The sun against my face is what woke me up. I blinked a couple times and immediately regretted being born. I could feel a half eaten burger on my chest and fries littered around my hand. I didn't even have the strength to get up, but I knew I left my makeup on and I wasn't going to risk getting a pimple just cause I'm lazy. I groaned and sat up, seeing my friend sprawled in her dress with a burger next to her in the box. I chuckled softly, but my laughter pounded in my head which made me clutch my temple. Jesus I should've been drinking water last night..

I got up and went to the restroom to empty my bladder, but it doesn't feel the same as last night. Feel's like a task...well it kinda is. I don't want a UTI..

A fresh shower brought me back to reality. I had my hair in a towel and walked around wearing Jenna's pajamas. I figured the smell of breakfast would wake my bestie up, so I went in the fridge to find a quick meal to make.

*BLLEERGH*

Jenna's up.

I tossed the eggs around with a spatula before turning the stove off and going to her bathroom. The sight of her clutching the toilet for dear life is what made me care for her more. I went to her and held back her hair, to which she replied by yanking her entire unit off.

I held back a laugh as I went to get a paper towel and wet it with cold water then patted her forehead with the paper towel. Jenna grunted in appreciation and I rubbed her back in response.

"You're so lucky. Never throwing up and shit.." She groaned as she felt another wave of sickness, but swallowed it down. I made a noise of disgust mixed in with a chuckle of pity.

"I think it's from your meds. You know you can't drink that much." I reminded her to which she nodded but waved her hand at me. Of course she's too fucked up to bicker about it.

"I made you breakfast. Come out when you're ready." I said and stood up to turn the shower on and at a good temp. I walked out, knowing I was going to be banished any second. Jenna's so independent, and quite literally refuses any type of help.

I learned that long ago, so me leaving her alone is doing more for her than being by her side.

To keep myself occupied I went through my phone, and most certainly didnt expect the first notification.

PERSON ALERTED AT FRONT DOOR — LIVE

I entered my password and went through my security camera app to see the back of a person I vaguely recognized. I pressed the speaker button and talked.

"Uh...can I help you?" I asked, a little irritated since I don't like visitors. The person turned around and everything came at once.

Zayn?

What's he doing there?

Zayn held up a small card and I squinted at the live feed, then my eyes went wide. My Driver's license!

"How'd you get that?!" I asked frantically as I dashed back to Jenna's bedroom to collect my stuff. Zayn listened and shrugged.

"Bouncer found it. Saw we talked last night and shoved it my way. You're not home?" I heard his voice through my phone, and forgotten how nice it sounded.

"Ah, I'll be right there—and I'll treat you for the trouble!" I promised and I shouted at Jenna.

"Gotta leave! Emergency!" I yelled which Jenna hummed back, probably in the shower.

I ordered an express ride and waited outside her place.

"Holy shit...you're still here!" I huffed as I ran down the street. I was in such a rush I ordered a lift to the corner store a block away! I put my hands on my knees to try and regulate my breathing. Zayn just chuckled and held out my license. I grabbed it back thankfully.

"You're lucky I'm free today, I totally could've kept it like a creep." He said nonchalantly. I didn't like how that sounded but kept my thoughts to myself.

What if he was a creep?

"Ugh, so that treat? What's your Venmo?" I asked as I pulled my phone after I calmed down. I looked up to see Zayn shrugging.

"Come to lunch with me and consider your debt paid."

Huh? I raised a brow as I shut my phone off.

"What you mean? Like...eat with you?" I prodded. Zayn raised his hands defensively.

"If it's a problem then don't sweat it. Just thought I'd continue our convo from last night." He explained and I visibly softened my face.

What a gentleman...it seemed less creepy for sure.

"Fine then, lemme get out of my friend's clothes, gimme ten minutes." I promised and fished my keys out of my purse. I turned back at Zayn who was preoccupied with looking at both ways of the street.

Even his back looked good.
