After some time with my debut at Takeover: WarGames, the merch department was asking me if I had any ideas for merchandise. I was all for it and I gave them a design of what I wanted my first shirt to look like, whether the shirt by itself was black or white.
The reason I wanted a white shirt as well for merchandise is because I want the design to look very old school and very much like the shirts you'd see from the 80s and 90s where the words and pictures have tiny holes after being in the washing machine or whatever.
I really wanted these two shirts to be the bestsellers and I want them to outsell every single WWE shirt you can think of. I wanted my name out there, and I was gonna do whatever it takes to let everyone know that I meant business.
After some time with the creative department, we finally got the shirts down and we were ready to sell these things!
How'd they come out? Well...

We were gonna sell them for $24.99, the usual price for every shirt you can think of, and little did I know, this would exceed my prediction of being the bestselling shirt on WWEShop.com!
As soon as it was released, we were hit with millions of orders of this shirt to the point where we actually had none left! Of course, there would be more to be sold as I didn't think I'd be this popular already.
What's even better is that after a couple days, a lot of fan mail came. While there were some for the other wrestlers I'd be working with in NXT, almost all of it was for me. It wasn't just grown men, most of the fan letters I've gotten were from GIRLS.
I was really flattered by it all, but it went too far to where I was receiving thirst tweets from girls fantasizing about me!
Some of them read,
"It'd be great if I could give him a kiss and I'd be so happy"
"Could @OwenHart1990 put me in the Sharpshooter? I would thank him for it"
