"Wrong time! Wrong place! Wrong weather!" You mumbled, knees aching as hell as you ran barefoot on the soggy and slippery pavement for approximately thirty minutes without break. It's been raining for hours, the steady patter of rain on your hoodie making you wonder if you'll ever be dry before reaching home. Well, the word 'home' seems foreign since you were running for your life.
Running for your life as long as you can.
Having nowhere to hide, you ran in the nearest dark alley. You try to wipe the water off your face and eyes with the wet sleeve, while cussing at yourself for ending up in this kind of situation.
"She must be somewhere here! Search for her! The boss said we need to find her dead or alive." you heard a man shouting loud enough to make you flinched and hide behind a giant bin, you had to hold your breath despite the disgusted putrid smell. Seeing a dark alley, you slowly walked further in it. The darkness engulfed you entirely, you could only hear your heart beating at a broken rhythm, throbbing against your ear drums. You had no choice but to take deep breaths, your eyes welled up with warm tears as you cried internally.
You started blaming yourself internally for not being depressed, how could you not be when you lost your job a week ago and unable to find another. It felt like the world jinxed you. The bartender job was the only reason you were still able to get your living for the past month but now you were fired with debts on your shoulders.
"Shit! Why did I have to venture here out of all place?"
You being the dumbest person stumble on a crime scene most likely witnessing men dressed in red uniforms capturing a certain woman and you could only assume she must run away from their grasp the moment you tried to run off without making brusque movement yet you ended up falling back on your rear with your face revealed to them.
Since then, it has been a cat and mice chase with each of their every men dispatch were alerted.
Now wasn't the moment to cry nor to let go of your chase. All you needed was to get home and pack your things, leaving Yokohoma city behind.
"Oii! Find her or else the Boss will make raw sushi with us ! He hates leaving witnesses alive!"
The rain seems not wanting to stop at all, resulting for you to having no choice but to hide behind the bin and squat down, your calves were already aching yet you have to swallow a lump and choose silence. What was worrying you the most was the fact you'll definitely get sick after catching up a cold with this weather and this was the last thing you wanted. The shadow of the bin successfully hide you from their eagle eyes as you heard the gang members running on the main pavement.
All this running exhausted the shit out of you, your stomach grumbles too. That's the disadvantage of wearing a small short and a hoodie to roam during a rainfall.Tapping your short's pocket, you searched for your phone in hope to call out someone or maybe the police since they are the only ones who can help you yet your irises widened so big that they could pop out the moment you realised your pockets were entirely empty.
"What the fuck? Where is it ?!!" You whisper-yelled to yourself. Turning to peak outside you saw your phone vibrating at the entrance of the alleyway.
"Oh shit ! Now I'm done for !"
One of the men saw your phone vibrating on the ground as he picked it up, he remained silent and approached the dark alley slowly, already suspicious of your presence in there. You were scared, you've never been so afraid in your entire life like right now since you were fully aware about the consequences of being raped and sold as sex slaves or simply killing you.
