Madeline

"Sherlock," she said affectionately, giving him a huge hug. He gave her the tiniest of smiles, but coming from him, it was like a gigantic grin. "Still a consulting detective?" she asked and he nodded.

"Sorry," Madeline heard from behind her, and she let go of him to see a handsome man slightly taller than herself, with dark eyes and light brown hair. "Who are you?" The man asked.

Madeline gasped. "Sherlock! You never mentioned me?" she asked, pretending to be hurt.

"You never came up in conversation," he replied. She playfully punched his arm, but grinned. "I'm Madeline Holmes, this one's sister," she stuck my hand out, and he shook it hesitantly. "John Watson," he replied, looking a little shocked and confused.

"Lovely name John Watson," she complimented, and half of his mouth tipped up. "Holmes and Watson, I like that. Very Conan Doyle," she added, smiling.

"Sister?" he asked curiously.

"Youngest," she explained after a short hesitation and ruffled Sherlock's hair, having to stretch to do it. He batted her hand away. John nodded, but still looked hesitant, which was understandable. She turned back to Sherlock. "Fancy a coffee?" He asked and Madeline narrowed her eyes. "Is there a case?" she asked suspiciously, and he shrugged. "Fine," she replied, heading for the door, grabbing her sapphire coloured heels from beside the door, straightening her floral dress, with Sherlock close behind. Madeline poked her head back in. "You're welcome to join us John, if you like," she added, sending him a warm smile. He nodded and followed her as they walked into Mrs. Hudson's cafe under the flat.

John

"Oh and later I should probably pay Mycroft a visit shouldn't I?" Madeline noted and Sherlock shrugged again. Twice ever have John seen him shrug and those happened in the time she was there. As if on cue, her phone rang and she answered. "Speak of the devil, hello Mycroft! It's been ages," she said and looked somewhere to her right and waving at a security camera. "I've already seen all your tricks, sweetheart," she said and hung up her phone. They all ordered drinks and Sherlock insisted on paying. Now, that was new! Sherlock usually doesn't care about that kind of stuff, but here we are, John thought to himself.

And Madeline was very different from Sherlock and Mycroft. Not in appearance, she had hair black as raven's wings with purple dyed underneath, and her eyes were almost the same colour as Sherlock's, maybe a bit more blue. it was rather odd to believe that there was another Holmes, and with such different personality from the others. She seemed happy and polite and well, normal. She probably does that deducing thing, but doesn't flaunt it like Sherlock sometimes does.

"So how come you never mentioned her?" John asked curiously. She looked at Sherlock and answered.

"Because I've been on secret missions, very classified. Mycroft doesn't even know very much about it," she explained and he was surprised yet again. "Oh and if you haven't noticed, he's a bit of an ass," John laughed at that.

"Oh yes," Sherlock added. "How was America?" He asked her.

"Mostly boring. Until I met up with a couple very good friends," she answered casually. This woman was a mystery, and a big one at that.

"You don't have friends in America," he pointed out, narrowing his eyes.

"Well I do now," she replied, glancing around. "But I don't think you'd like them," she added, smirking.

"What makes you say that?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

"You don't like any of my friends! Remember when I introduced you to Ayla?" she turned to John. "See, when we were younger, I tried setting up one of my friends with this one, just for a laugh," she tilted her head to Sherlock. "But he took one look at her, and ended up resurfacing traumatic childhood memories. She kind of kept away from me after that," she ruffled his hair again until he glared at her. "Well," she said randomly after a few minutes of awkward silence, standing up. "That's enough uncomfortability for now, nice meeting you John, see you two later," she waved and started walking away.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"To see my eldest brother, wish me luck!" she replied before she walked out.
