"Loki, it's okay, I can go on this mission alone," I tell him, pulling on my boots. "I'm a big girl, and I can handle myself."
Odin needs somebody to go back to the Ice Elves and bring them more gifts, the last batch until we're fully forgiven for breaking into their Prism. I volunteered, since they can't hurt me, but Loki is completely against it.
"I know you can handle yourself, but I still don't want you going alone," he argues, walking over to me and crouching before me, resting his hand on my knee before I can rise.
"Why not?" I ask gently.
"I don't want you getting hurt." He takes a deep breath and swallows hard. "I . . . I couldn't live with myself if something happened to you.""Lo," I breathe."
"I—ah, this is difficult. This is all new to me, "he groans.
My breath catches as I realize what he means.
"I want to—I mean—" he stutters.
I place a finger against his lips., stopping him. "I know what you mean."
I think I'm in love with you, Willow Jynx. No, I know I'm in love with you." He looks up at me, his green eyes hopeful.
"I love you too, Loki," I reply, looking down at him and smiling.
I lean towards him, and he stays as still as a statue. I pause a few inches away from his lips, suddenly unsure of myself, when he gasps and presses his lips to my own. My heart flutters as he puts his free hand against the back of my head, drawing me closer. When I pull away, he smiles softly, his eyes closed.
"Will you be mine?" Loki asks, trailing his fingers up and down my neck, making me shiver.
"I always have been," I whisper.
