It was a bright morning as Mikasa woke up ready for the new day. Mikasa's life was a moderate living. She was gentle in nature and her parents are farmers and provide for themselves most of the time. Reason for this is that they try to avoid a large population because of her parents' heritage. From her mother it was her asian heritage, they were probably the last of their kind and sought out for. She remembers the time when they all went to the nearby villages in wall maria and got a bunch of curious looks. From her father he claims that their family has incredible power deep within them, though she had doubts. They live in isolation away from villages and districts, meaning she doesn't know many people and doesn't have any friends... until recently.

Mikasa gets dressed and greets her parents in the kitchen before eating breakfast, her father was cooking breakfast and her mother was busy with a crochet.

"So mikasa what are you doing today?" her father asked before setting a plate of eggs and a loaf of bread to her. "I going to meet with Gatsu today"

"Oh" her mother started. "You've been seeing Gatsu for a couple of days haven't you?" Mikasa answers with a nod with her mouth full. "You know you only told us a little about Gatsu, why not invite him here to know him better"

Mikasa simply nodded, she learned that Gatsu doesn't like to be around other people. Though it wouldn't hurt to ask if she also wants to know him more, even with the time they send it usually Mikasa watches him train, they eat and he asks about her then trains some more then they say their goodbye then leave. He mostly keeps to himself and although she respects his privacy she wants to know him better.

Mikasa finishes eating and washes her dishes, she then takes two apples and bread and places them on a piece of cloth and ties it. Before she could leave her mother called for her.

"Mikasa" she looks at her husband who gives a nod. "I have something important to tell you" Mikasa tilts her head as her mother kneels down to her. " Mikasa, how would you feel if you were not a single child?"

"Huh?" the ravenette responded, not understanding the question. "Mikasa, you're going to be an older sister. I'm pregnant"

"Huh, I'm going to have a sister?"

"Or a brother," Mikasa's father chimed in. Mikasa thinks it through the thought of having a younger sibling sounds nice. "When do they come?" she asked innocently, as both parents' expressions dropped. ""O-oh, it will take time-almost a year"

"Why?"

"Y-you should get going, who don't want to have your friend worried" her fathers stated opening the door for her as she leaves. They both sighed in relief.

Mikasa makes her way to Gatsu's usual spot. Almost everyday she brings him food and water when he takes a break.

As Mikasa gets close she ducks under the foliage as she peers over seeing Gatsu deep into his training. Not wanting to disturb him she slowly makes her way to the log and places the items there and quickly returns to the foliage and watches him. She is amazed by the movement guts perform. When her mother read her stories about knights in shining armor and how they fight beasts, she can't help but think about Gatsu. She always finds him mature, not acting like most children do, especially boys.

When asked why he trains he answers with wanting to be strong. That was clear with the muscle the Gatsu was gaining. Gatsu then stop then turns to her direction, "mikasa, you can come out"

He always knows when she is here. Mikasa emerges from the brush and goes to the log waiting for the scarred boy. He sheathed his sword as he got closer. "You know you don't have to bring food every time you visit." he sighs,
