On a hillside where wildflowers grow, both gatsu and mikasa reside, the latter braiding flowers and gatsu was laying on the ground staring at the clouds as he passed by with his sword to the side.
"Hey, how's your parents?" The ravenette looked at the boy. "There fine, though my mom is due for a check up" gatsu hummed, it made sense. Nearly eight months passed, and the two grew closer together as friends. While gatsu is still closed off with his personal life, but is more open toward mikasa, he's on good terms with her parents and spends some of the day doing her interests. She even manages to be less meek thanks to his bluntness.
"Gatsu can you come closer?" He stared at her for a bit before sitting up and leaning towards her. "Close your eyes"
He huffed before closing them as he felt something placed over his head. He feels her move away as he opens his eyes seeing the flowers around his brow, it was the flowers that Mikasa was working on. She giggled at gatsu expression of blank confusion. He just lets it be, seeing it makes her happy, laying back down watching the clouds.
He thinks back on spending time with her, she showed him the crops, he ate dinner with her family, and she made a little rag doll of him. With his little spiky hair, a little scowl and a fabric sword stitch to his arm... it was thoughtful. He also gifted her something... unorthodox to her. He gave her a small knife similar to his. He ask godo for it, but he explained that it was a hunting knife so it no good for a girl as gentle as mikasa.
So gatsu told her it was a knife to cut plants and roots, which she believes... it's the thought that counts damn it.
Mikasa then laid near him with her head close to his, as she watched the sky too. They both take in the scene. The day started when he was training early in the morning soon after mikasa met up with him and then in the afternoon they both hung out on the hillside. His eyes drift to the wrapping around her right wrist, when first seeing it he questions if she hurt herself but says it wasnt that and said it was something important, that she couldn't tell him. Hearing that he never brought it up, though he's still curious
Eventually the sun was setting and gatsu had to take mikasa home. "Mikasa it time" he sat up looking at the girl who was sound asleep, he shook her, waking her up. She stirred awake before sitting up rubbing her eyes, she noticed her surroundings. "... is it late already?" she mumbled. Gatsu said nothing as he's putting on his scabbard, shifting the belt a bit before helping mikasa up.
They both head to her house soon approaching it mikasa enter followed by gatsu "im home and gatsu with me"
Archibald, Mikasa's father, came down to greet them. He halted half way before resisting a smile . "Er- hey you two. had a good time?"
"It was fine," gatsu said, upon meeting Mikasa's parents they were more than happy to meet him. They were also curious about him especially when they heard of him from mikasa.
"How's mom?"
"She's fine, go see for yourself" archibald said motioning up the stairs. "You go too, gatsu i'm sure she wants to see you," he said but was straining a bit at the end while covering his mouth. Though the boy found it odd, he shrugged and walked up stairs.
He followed close behind Mikasa as she opened the door, revealing her expected mother, in her bed "Mikasa your home, and gatsu-... fufufufu" she started to chuckle at the boy, making him confused. "Gatsu i think that suits you well" she said teasingly again he was confused until it dawned on him he's still wearing the flower crown.
he clicked his tongue and looked away hearing the mother daughter duo laughing, "oh i'm just teasing gatsu" she insisted, seeing the boy fluster with his ears burning. "Did you have fun today?"
