Chapter One

Bea Allen sighs as she took a shower before getting dressed on a regular Friday morning the ending of her regular work week, barring any crime scenes she is called to. Bea works as a CSI for Chicago PD and is attached to the 21st District but outside of regular work, she is also known as the Blue Streak or the Flash, the Fastest Woman Alive.

Bea moved to Chicago about a year ago, having transferred from Central City after she was in a nine month coma. Waking up in Star Labs instead of a hospital had been a slight shock to her but not as much as finding out that she had the ability to be places in a flash. But her new powers came with their own challenges and after spending six months mastering them with two of her new friends from Star Labs, she put in for a transfer and left Central City behind.

Some might say that she was selfish for doing so, her new friends and foster family had definitely said so, but she knew that it was the right thing to do in the end. She luckily hadn't been out in and about for that long in Central City for villains to appear like they usually did when heroes began to pop up ie Gotham, Metropolis, Starling, just to name a few.

Not to say she didn't go out in either Central City or Chicago to help, and not to say she had saved those that would've otherwise died without her, letting her be known to those in both cities. She would honestly would've been just as happy to just still be a simple CSI, so that's what she concentrated on most, only bringing out the Flash when she needed to.

She sighs once more as she continued to get ready for the day. Bea lived in a modest sized apartment with a kitchen/dining room, living room/reading nook, bathroom, bedroom, and a second bedroom that she had turned into her lab/study. Bea slid on a brown jacket over her dark blue shirt, feet shoved into her special tennis shoes and her legs were clad in a pair of black jeans. Pulling her long, curly dark red hair up into a ponytail she was almost ready to leave her bedroom, with only one thing missing from her ensemble. Striding over to her bedside table, she plucked one of the several spare rings out of the drawer that was gold and had a lightning bolt symbol on the face.

Rumbling from her stomach caused her to grimace at the hunger pangs and so went into the kitchen to throw a box of her high calorie bars into her satchel and to make herself a quick breakfast and fill a cup with coffee. Thirty minutes later, she was finished with her breakfast and double checked her satchel to make sure she wasn't going to forget anything.

Wallet, keys, phone, badge, snack bars, glasses, notebook, field test kit... what else am I forgetting? Eyes falling on her empty coffee mug caused her to remember and she hurried to the fridge where her already cold water bottle was waiting. She always filled it up the night before and put it in the fridge so that it would be ice cold for her in the morning.

Shoving the hard metal bottle into her satchel with the rest of her things, she left her apartment and towards work. Hopefully today won't be to eventful.

Bea actually made it in early today, shocking not only herself but also Sergeant Platt.

"Okay, who are you and what have you done with the kid?" Platt asked, her eyebrow raised as Bea came towards her smiling softly at the rough woman.

"Good morning, Sergeant. And I'm just as shocked as you are about my promptness this morning." Bea said softly.

Bea tried to stay as below the radar as she could and hadn't made any friends or close friends since she moved here, mostly they are all just acquaintances to her. However she knew that Platt and a few of the others - especially in the Intelligence Unit - were always trying to get her to open up and be truly apart of the District. She hasn't broken yet.
