I groan in pain as I roll my shoulder, the muscle taught from an entire 10-hour shift at the hospital. "God this is miserable." I think while continuing to walk down the damp sidewalk. "And it rained, what is this a damn teen rom com?" I kick at a loan rock as a slowly make my way to the crosswalk. Pressing the button at the base of the stoplight, I patiently wait for my turn to cross.
Eventually I can so I take my first step which lands into a deep ass puddle. "Oh, goodie now my socks are wet..." I grunt in annoyance. reaching into my pocket I fish out a cigarette and my lighter, even though I've seen the end result of smoking. Sighing deeply, I light it and as I take swift drag of the lung cancer stick. "Oh wow." I see a bright light incoming quickly.
"Damn didn't know that these thing were that fast to kill you."
I fix my gaze onto the source of the lights.
"Ah shit-"
