The Impact

The school bell rings, I hurried outside of the school and began heading home, waiting to play on my PS5. I haven't got the chance to play since I'm always busy with schoolwork. Some minutes later, it had started to rain. Oh come on, why did it have to rain now, I thought to myself. I started sprinting as fast as I could to avoid getting soaked. I approached the street and began crossing. But just as I stepping onto the pavement, a horn blares from my left, and before I could react, I was met with a very hard impact to my left and knocked away from the vehicle. I laid on my chest, vision blur, ears ringing, clueless of what's happened to me. Will I die like this!? Has my carelessness finally come to bite me back?! I rest my eyes, wishing the pain can go away. Sometime later, I woke up expecting to be in the hospital, but instead I was asleep in my bedroom. Was it a dream? It couldn't be. It felt so real. I got from my bed and started to look around. I was expecting a sharp pain on my left side, but felt nothing. I open the curtains to look outside. Hold on a second! Where are the neighbors' houses?! Why do I see plain green hills?! Now I'm confused. Before I set out to investigate what was going on, I made breakfast to restore some energy. After 30 minutes, I got ready to go outside to explore what was going on. When I stepped outside, a cool breeze blew into my face and the warm temperature surrounded me. I started walking on the trail that lead to the hilltop. I could hear the birds chirp above me and in the trees. When I reached to the top, I saw something in the distance. A strange town with giant windmills, surrounded by water with only a bridge to get in. I began to walk towards the strange town. As I was walking, someone had yelled at me to stop. I looked around to see who it was, but no sight of the person. Then out of nowhere, a girl comes down and stands in front of me. "I've never seen you around Mondstadt. What's your name?" The girl asked me. I stood there clueless. There was no way that this was happening. Have I been teleported into a video game?! I know this girl.

This was Amber

This was Amber. If I tell her my real name, she might laugh at me, so I came up with an idea of using what every writer uses when the reader is in the story instead. "The names Y/N." I answered her. Amber tilts her head to the right. "Eh?" She responded to my answer with a bit of confusion. "I've never heard someone with that name before." I scratch the top of my head in embarrassment. "I know it may sound weird but that is my name. And you are Outrider Amber." She stands there in shock. "Wait, how did you know my name!?" It seems that I've caught her off guard. "Some of the locals mentioned you," I lied. "Seems reasonable," she says. I'm assuming she believes me, I thought. "Judging by your clothing, you're not from around here aren't you?" She says. I totally forgot about that, I thought to myself. My clothing is going to throw everyone off. "That's right. In fact, I'm not even from this world." I answered her. "Huh?" She responded in disbelief. "I don't think I've met anyone else that is not from Teyvat besides the Traveler." She adds. "Is that so?" I said, pretending that I don't know anything. "Yep!" Amber perks up. "Well anyways. How about I take you to Mondstadt?" she asks me. I responded her with a yes and I was about to go there anyways. Amber leads the way to Mondstadt as I was following her. On the way there, two Knights were guarding the front gate. "Welcome back Outrider Amber. Oh, and who is this gentleman?" Gentleman? I thought to myself. I'm not that old. "This is Count Burger, he's new around here." Amber introduces me to the knights. "Is that so? Well then, welcome to Mondstadt Count Burger!" The knight salutes across his chest. I know he's thinking my name "Count Burger" is an odd name, but decides not to say it because it be rude. "Let's go Y/N. I'll take you around Mondstadt." I follow her to Good Hunter. "Amber. Welcome back. Same as always?" The lady who runs the restaurant asks Amber. "Yep. How about you Y/N?" She notices me standing behind her. "Oh I didn't see you there. My apologies sir." "It's okay. I'm new here and Amber is just showing me around." "I see. So what can I get for you?" I stare at the menu for a minute. "How about the Adventure's Breakfast Sandwich?" I pointed at the board. "Sure. It'll be ready in a few minutes." She prepares the food me and Amber wanted. Shortly, she was done and we both sat down to eat. After we both finished eating, we went up to the Favonius HQ. I followed her inside. On the left, there was a guy who was flipping his coin.

"Oh

"Oh. Who do we have here?" The man approaches us. "Hi Kaeya. This is Y/N. He's new here." Amber introduces me to him. Kaeya inspects me for a few seconds. "Is that so? If that's the case, you should introduce him to the Acting Grand Master. I'm sure she'll be very interested in him." "And that's who we were about to go see." Both me and Amber enter the Grand Acting Master's office. Inside, there were two ladies. Both of them were talking to each other until we walked in.

"Hello Amber. Oh, and who is this?" Jean asks. "This is Y/N. He's new here." "Is that so?" She looks at me. "Yep." I responded. "May I ask where you're from?" "Why's that?" "Nothing just wanna know." "Nowhere from here." I said quickly. "Umm...?" She was confused about my answer. "What he means is that he's not from this world." Amber spoke up. "Hmm, just like the cutie." Lisa giggles. Just when Jean was about to speak, someone knocks on the door. "Come in." Jean tells the person behind the door. The person comes in. "Sorry for interrupting, but we have an emergency." Kaeya sounded serious when he said that. "What is it?" Jean asked Kaeya. "I've been getting word that Sister Barbara hasn't come back since this morning to collect some medicinal herbs." Jean takes a deep breath and sighs. "I'll go look for her in a moment." She gets up from her desk and walks to the door. "I can go with you if you want me to." I told her. Everyone looks at me. "I'm not sure if you know, but they are very dangerous monsters out there." Amber warns me. But I brush off her warning. "Ah don't worry. I'm actually capable of protecting myself and others." Amber still wasn't too sure. "Well, never judge a book by its cover. I'd like to see what our new friend is capable of." Lisa giggles, as if she's trying to tease me. Jean takes a moment to respond. "I guess I can use an extra hand. Alright then, let's go Y/N." I follow her out of the office then out of the Favonius HQ. "Let's go to my house real quick. I need to grab a few things." "Alright, lead the way. But don't take too long." Jean follows me to my house.
