"Okay Vox, what is it that you need to speak to me about?" asked Charlie as she sat down on her chair behind her desk.
Vox followed by sitting on one of the two chairs in front of her desk.
"I want to talk to you about my reasoning of coming here... and for staying here for three or four months."
'WHAT?!'
Charlie didn't show any reaction when she thought of that.
"I know that this probably is so sudden and uncomfort-"
"No! No! Not at all! It's just that I- um I mean we are surprised that you would stay here. I mean since Alastor is here and all-"
"It's not about staying here to get at Alastor, princess."
Charlie gave him a confused look.
Vox sighed, "It's about keeping not only myself safe but Emika's as well."
"Safe?"
"...It's about what happened earlier today."
Charlie become concerned when she could hear a bit of fear in his voice.
"What happened?"
Vox felt unsure if he should tell her but if he wanted to keep himself and Emika safe, he must do what feels right.
"Before I tell you princess, you must promise to never tell anyone what I'm about to tell you."
Charlie smiled a bit and nodded. "I promise Vox and please, call me Charlie."
"Alright, Charlie." Vox smiled a bit too but became serious as he continued. "Today, I was hanging out with Valentino and Velvet, since we haven't hanged out for a long while."
He didn't want to tell her about seeing that glowing blue butterfly in his house. So he left that part out.
"Mhmm."
"I made sure that Emika and Vark were okay and safe before leaving."
Charlie panicked a bit.
"Did you-"
"Yes, I called for a babysitter a day before so that she will be there until I returned home."
She calmed down, placing her hand over her heart.
"Phew, thank god." said Charlie as she used her other hand to cool her face from a bit of heat building up.
"Umm... are you-"
"I'm okay! I'm fine, I just get a bit in a panic mode when a child is left alone."
Vox didn't replied. He just stared with confusion and a bit of... concern.
"So, please continue with your story Vox."
"Okay? Anyways, as we left my place, I noticed a black car following us. At first I thought that it was just a regular people driving the car just behind us to turn into a different road or lane but nope. They continued following us on every turn."
"Oh my, did Valentino and Velvet saw them?"
"Unfortunately, no. They didn't."
Vox pulled out a cigarette and a lighter to try and calm his nerves. He then snapped that he wasn't alone. "May I?"
"It's okay, I'm used to it. Thanks to Angel, who smokes almost everyday."
"I take it that it must annoy you and the others to no end." said Vox, trying to light the cigarette with his lighter but it wouldn't light up.
