M/N POV ~
"hyung, let's work on the game together." he looked at me with zero expression. "didn't you say you hated me and wanted me gone from your life? and now you want to work with me? for that game of yours? are you kidding me?" he took a step forward making me looking down a little. "i need a designer that's good. like you."
"you've got to be kidding me. you thought that if you came up to me and asked, i would just say yes?""that's what you wanted, hyung." i take a slight step forward. "stop calling me that! why are you calling me 'hyung' all of a sudden?" he got a little louder so i did as well. "you told me to call you that.""no. don't."
we stood in silence for a few seconds. "instead, i'm not an emotionless robot like you. so, i'm not going to work with you. just get back to your date." he basically spat at me before walking away leaving me in lonely and quiet silence.
3RD POV ~
"hey! what have you been up to?" the cashier asked as jaeyeong walked back over to him. "sorry." he leaned on the counter in front of him. "we had a ton of work while you were gone. the ones that sat over there are your friends, right?" he nodded to the now empty table making jaeyeong do the same. "they're not."
"what? i saw the guy go after you. give this back to him." he held out an item m/n left behind by accident. "what is this?" he looked at the label with m/n's name. "take a look. it's your friend's, right?" jaeyeong slammed the book like thing on the counter. "no idea. he'll come to pick it up himself." he sat down as the guy leaned forward.
"oh, right. that girl that was with him. do you know her? bring her again some time. i'll give you guys free lunch." jaeyeong heard m/n's voice in his head again. 'i need a designer that's good. like you.' he also remembered his response to his use of hyung. 'stop calling me that.' and m/n's shocked and kinda sad face.
jaeyeong slowly picked up the item. "that sad look on his face.." m/n and jihye slowly walked back home. "you didn't come back after so long that i thought you'd run away." when he didn't respond to her she continued to a different topic. "the food was nice. but it was super pricey, wasn't it?""yeah, it was a bit much." he finally spoke as she nodded. "totally. it was more like a place to take pictures."
"there's a cafe i know over there, and-""i need a more rational strategy.""what strategy?" he slowly turned to jihye. "thanks for coming with me today. i'll see you tomorrow." m/n walked past her leaving jihye. "what the heck? wasn't it a date?" she whined as she watched his back. jaeyeong sat on his couch with his eyes closed.
opening them he looked at the item. he sighed and did it again only to get the same results. "this isn't helping. you try not to care, and then what? just two looks and you give up? i'm disappointed. jang jaeyeong. he probably doesn't care about you." he kicked the table making the item fall to the floor.
he tried to ignore it but got up and started to pick up the papers. but he stops when he sees the last page under the other was a redraw of his from when they first meet. picking it up he turned it to see his original drawing on the front. "why does he still have this? like he cares about me." he clenched the paper a little tighter with a sad look.
m/n was sitting at the same table him and jaeyeong were just sitting in a while ago. he looked at the books he rented out. [the art of understanding and persuation] he let out a huge sigh as he placed it on top of the other book. "this is too much to learn." he looked at it for a while before opening his phone. [jaeyeong hyung. please reconsider my offer.]
m/n stopped remembering jaeyeong's reaction to him using the word hyung. "you wanted me to call you hyung." deleting the whole thing he started to rewrite it. [hello, jaeyeong] he started to type the rest of what he thought of. "you think this will work?" m/n stopped and looked up to see jaeyeong. "what's the point of reading this? that won't help persuade me."
