Author's Note:

I know that probably no one is reading my trash.

I also know these are annoying. However, I would like to thank you for choosing this story and I apologize in advance for any errors in grammar or spelling.

I got the idea for this when I found out that my school was putting on a production of The Sound of Music. I immediately thought, "Hey, why not do a Percabeth version of this? No one else has!" So here we are!

Be warned, it's kind of cliché but that's what makes it good, right?

I own nothing but the plot. Enjoy!

Annabeth Chase's POV:

"Annabeth!"

I sighed, slamming my locker shut as I turned around to face the whirlwind of choppy brown hair barreling towards me. I caught one of my best friends by the shoulders so as not to have her knock me down. "What's up, Piper?"

I met Piper McLean in eighth grade, when I saw her sitting alone in the cafeteria. My other best friends and I offered her a spot at our table, where we spent the entire lunch period getting acquainted and laughing our heads off. Even now, as juniors, we are still extremely close and usually glued at the hip.

"Look at this!" Piper exclaimed, her kaleidoscopic eyes twinkling with excitement. I grabbed ahold of the paper she was brandishing in my face. My brow furrowed in concentration as I tried to read with the loud voices of other highschoolers in the background. It had always been difficult for me to read in a crowded and hectic environment.

I managed to make out the words, "The Sound of Music" on the flyer. Immediately, I knew it was advertising Goode High's theater production of the year. The same thing happened last year with the play Annie, when Piper played the mean Miss Hannigan. It was hilarious.

"They're doing The Sound of Music this year! Can you believe it? I love that film! The songs, the plot, the romance, everything..." Piper gushed, her voice getting dreamier by the second.

"You're going to try out, right? You have an amazing voice and great acting skills! Who are you going for?" I asked.

She looked left and right to make sure no one was eavesdropping on our conversation. Lowering her voice and leaning in, she told me, "I've heard that Jason Grace was going for Rolf. I'm thinking of auditioning for Liesl."

Her cheeks were tinted pink, the blush hard to spot on her Cherokee skin. I shot her a knowing grin, making her flush deeper. Jason Grace was her crush since freshman year. Piper always swooned whenever she caught sight of his blond hair and blue eyes. She would usually rant for ages about his cute scar, right above his upper lip which was left by the stapler he tried to eat as a toddler and how he somehow managed to make glasses look sexy. This would go on forever until Thalia pointed out that hearing Piper talk that way about her brother made her uncomfortable.

"I think you should totally go for it! The role of Liesl would really suit you, honestly. And if you get the part, and Jason gets Rolf, you two will sing a beautiful rendition of Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and you'll dance and sing, and he'll finally realize how much he loves you!" a familiar voice cried out.

Piper and I whipped around and saw a smirking Hazel leaning against the lockers. "When did you get here, Hazel?" I questioned.

"A few moments ago. I was just in time to hear Pipes talking about Golden Boy." Hazel was really good at sneaking up on people. It's creepy.
