I'm walking down the halls of Mystic Falls High, my face buried in sheet music I have to learn by Friday.
Mrs. Lockwood is having another one of her fancy gatherings this weekend and like usual, she's paying me to play the entire night.
Does her having me over to play piano every other day interfere with my studying? Yes. Do I desperately need the money to pay rent this month? Also yes.
Not paying attention to where I'm going, I walk straight into another person. While they're able to stay on their feet, I fall flat on my ass.
"I'm so sorry," I say to whoever it is, gathering my things from the floor. "No worries," a British accent responds. Red manicured nails help me gather my things spread out on the hallway floor before offering me a hand.
Once I'm off of the floor, I take in the person I rammed into. She's a tall blonde with enviable beauty.
"Once again, I'm so sorry." I apologize. "No worries. I'm Rebeckah." She reaches her hand out in an elegant manner.
"Francesca," I smile, shaking her hand.

It turns out Rebekah is a new student here. That explains hey I've never seen her before. We're both currently in our third period, which just so happens to be Mr. Saltzmans class. The entire period, I can't help but notice the tension between Rebekah, Stefan, and Elena. Caroline and Bonnie seem uncomfortable but it's not as bad as the other three. Even Mr. Saltzman seem kind of weary.
"What with the silent hatred?" I whisper to Rebekah. "Nothing much. Just an old and meaningless feud." She puts an emphasis on the word "meaningless."
As soon as the class ends, I'm going my separate ways from Rebekah when someone grabs me and yanks me into a random classroom.
Shoving off my attacker, I notice that it's Caroline, Elena, and Bonnie.
"What the actual fuck?!" I shriek. "Sorry. I told them to just tap you on the shoulder but, they didn't listen," Bonnie sighs, glaring at her two best friends.
"What's this about?" I ask. "It's about Rebekah. She's not as sweet as she seems and we just want to protect you." Elena says.
I stare at the three of them in disbelief. The four of us have only spoken to each other a number of times and they're trying to tel me who to be friends with.
"Thanks for the concern and all but, I can pick my own friends." I huff. "We know. It's just Rebekah-"
I cut Caroline off with an annoyed sigh. "Rebekah is Rebekah. Just like I'm me. We can all make our own decisions here. If she's bad news, I'll decide that for myself," I glare.
I mean, who do they think they are? Practically strangers and telling me who to be friends with. "See you girls later," and with that, I'm leaving the room.

Ever since I awoke in Mystic Falls, I have been sensing a certain type of magic. Magic only a Mikealson witch could possess.Using my own magic, I did a town wide spell to locate the source. What I find is both horrifying and amazing at the same time.
A teenage girl. A witch to be exact. But, not just any witch but a Mikealson witch. Kol's daughter. In any other circumstance, id be more than delighted.
But those happy thoughts are plagued by the thought of my sister and the curse she cast. I need rid of her, same as I do my children.
Letting a small softness in my heart win, I call Kol into my room. Using his abilities, he's in my room in less than a second.
"What is it mother?" He ask in an annoyed tone. Ungrateful as ever. "I want you to keep an eye on someone for me. A witch from a very powerful lineage. She has yet to even learn of her abilities but, if she does she could cause quit the problem," I tell him.
"I'm not your dog mother. I'm not watching anyone." He grumbles. "Yes. You will. Her names Francesca Sinclair. I already have you enrolled in Mystic Falls High. You start tomorrow. I want you to befriend her. Keep an eye on her and most importantly. Don't let her discover her abilities.
"Why the bloody hell would I do that?"
"Because I need you to." The story I tell him is only half true. It is true that she could cause some problems but, this is the mother in me talking.
Even if he doesn't understand why, I believe Kol should be able to spend at least a short amount of time with his daughter before I follow through with my plans.
If I could, I would avoid harming the young girl at all but, it isn't an option. Dahlia can't get her hands on her. Not alive anyways.
